Sen. Richard “Dick” Durbin will not seek reelection. He has been in Congress for 44 years. Durbin, 80, posted a video announcement about his decision titled "Time to Pass the Torch" on X.

Watch for his former babysitter and congresswoman Cheri Bustos to suddenly re-emerge. She quit after she ran the DCCC to lose a dozen Dem seats in 2020 but maybe the money as a K Street lobbyist will keep her away.
Blagojevich running. Could it be Trump had this in mind when he pardoned him? He guy had to be popular. If he were to run the rats would have to spend more resources defending the seat.
If he runs and comes up short Trump could reward him with a job.

You’re forgetting Durbin’s constituency that kept him in office all of these years. They’re the ones who will be voting the next IL senator into office, and they don’t seem very bright.
When that scumbag (Mumbai) Mike Lee was trying to ram S386 through using unamimous consent in an empty senate chamber, Durbin stopped Mumbai Mike’s underhanded India-first legislation. Dubrin deserves credit for this.
