If you haven’t been to a comic convention or a celebrity event, you might not know how expensive celebrity autographs can be. Some think famous actors shouldn’t charge fans for autographs or photos, as they already earn a lot. But perhaps they just want to make extra money while they are still famous. Check out their prices, some of them just may surprise you!

Mark Hamill

Charging $195 for autographs and photos, the Star Wars star generated significant revenue during his 2016 appearance at Fan Expo Canada. While the exact number of autographs is unknown, his earnings were substantial enough to potentially afford a yacht.

There was anybody on that list that I would even pay a dollar to for their autograph. I keep thinking of anything more absurd than paying celebrities for their signature.

Same here, I got film star Fred McMurray’s autograph in 1959 when I was a kid, and Dodger pitcher Don Drydale’s around 1965. Got to chat with both of them, didn’t pay a cent for their signatures and though I have met many famous people, those are only two autographs I have ever asked for.

Or the whole “pay extra for a shirt to be an advertising billboard”. If I’m going to be advertising for Coke or Nike, I should be getting the shirt at a discount, not paying extra to do it.

The article showed how one actor Matt Smith made $250,000 on a weekend at $100 for an autograph.
That is a very good reason to charge money!

I worked at a country club that started the Bakersfield Business Conference. I have a few autographs from there. Didn’t ask for them. I was always inside at the bar while they were all outside in the tents but the speakers came through the club house and would usually stop and talk to me. Rush Limbaugh, President Reagan, Charlton Heston, etc. Had dinner with Phyllis Diller there. She decided to eat with the help.

Thinking about it I don’t mind paying for Salk’s autograph. He did not lay claim for financial rights to his vaccine that saved millions.
