Iran's right to enrich uranium is not negotiable, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Wednesday, ahead of a second round of talks in Oman this weekend with the United States about Tehran's disputed nuclear programme.
Araqchi was responding to a comment made on Tuesday by the U.S. top negotiator Steve Witkoff, who said Tehran must "stop and eliminate its nuclear enrichment" to reach a deal with Washington.
"We have heard contradictory statements from Witkoff, but real positions will be made clear at the negotiating table," Araqchi said.
"We are ready to build trust regarding possible concerns over Iran's enrichment (of uranium), but the principle of enrichment is not negotiable.

The right to protect ourselves is non-negotiable.
Israels right to bomb the heck out of Iran for self preservation is non-negotiable.
Time for some pinpoint strategic strikes
Also take out their missile and drone factories.
It’s just a matter of time...
While they are at it try taking out Khomeni and his henchmen and also their oil refineries.
They also have a “Right to Try” when it comes to surviving a missile strike.
Well, that’s gonna be a problem then!
The religion of peace doesn’t need nukes.
Oopsie.
I guess when Obama did his secret airlift of bundles of cash to Iran on the shipping pallets as part of his non-proliferation deal, he failed to get it in writing.
Oh well, these things happen.
Iran is a gangster regime, but competent gangsters should know that when they have been bought, they are supposed to stay bought.
People, wait a second.
Uranium when it comes out of the ground is 99.3% U238. 0.7% U-235. U-235 is reactor fuel and bomb material.
BUT.
If that is the ratio out of the ground, you centrifuge it to move the U238 outwards on the curve of the centrifuge. U-235, being a tiny bit lighter, is on the inner part.
You do this for a while and you scrape out the U238. After rather a long time you get the ratio to 95% U238 and 5% U235.
That’s the % requirement for reactor fuel, and Iran is completely entitled to have reactors.
Bomb material has to be much higher. 50-80% U235. That is a long time centrifuging.
Point being, no, you don’t tell them they can’t spin Uranium to create fuel. That’s like telling them they are not allowed to grow food. A completely innocent activity.
What you want to prevent is the elevation to 10+ times more concentration of U235. Assuming you don’t think they are entitled to do whatever science they want.
They are absolutely right. It is *NON NEGOTIABLE* that Iran has absolutely no right to enrich Uranium. I said that when they first started it.
I said at the time, the United States should inform Iran that enriching uranium will be considered an act of war by Iran, and we will come in and smash the dog sh*t out of them if they try it!
But all we had was little girls running the nation then, and they were afraid to bring Iran to heel.
We should have invaded and stomped Iran's religious nut-job government to smithereens in 1979, and it has been the correct answer for every year since then.
The idea of allowing them to enrich uranium should have been a red line, and it should have resulted in an immediate attack against them.
*NO!* Iran does *NOT* have a right to make nuke bombs or experiment with nuclear energy in any shape form or fashion, and we have been idiots to indulge them in their efforts to do it.
On a more positive note, the fused silica towers of Isfahan will become popular tourist attractions once the radiation subsides to safe levels.
We shouldn’t let them even play around with it. These are the leaders who regularly lead their masses in chanting “death to America”. Why try to let them find that line between enough but not too much?
It is "innocent" only if that 5% limit can be validated. This is a fundamentally antagonistic, violent, borderline suicidal, and dishonest regime. Such validation is impossible.
I don't like pinning our future on the impossible.
Iranians shouldn’t strut around if they remember of our US Air Force B-2 stealth bombers were deployed to the Diego Garcia island in the Indian Ocean on March 29, 2025.
Some highlights....
Each carries a variety of items including the B83 variable-yield thermonuclear gravity bomb with a maximum yield of 1.2 megatons of TNT equivalent. A B-2 can carry 16 of them each.
The bomber can also drop conventional weapons such as up to eighty 500-pound class Mk 82 JDAM GPS-guided bombs.
The B-2 can perform attack missions at altitudes of up to 50,000 feet.
The US and Israel have some other aircraft ready, also.
Should say FOUR B-2 bombers were deployed there.
