Zegler has publicly expressed her dislike for the original Disney Snow White portrayal and her relationship with Prince Charming, calling the prince a “stalker” and suggesting the original Walt Disney film was “dated”.
Some fans and critics viewed Zegler’s comments as a sign that she was not appreciative of the role and that her criticisms would negatively impact the remake. Others defended Zegler, arguing that her comments highlighted the need for a more modern and progressive take on the story.
Zegler has defended her comments, stating that the original film was “extremely dated” when it came to ideas of women in power and that the remake was necessary to address these issues. She has also pointed out the changes made in the remake to reflect modern perspectives.
Box office impact:
The controversy surrounding the remake, including Zegler’s comments, may have contributed to the film’s less-than-stellar performance at the box office. Some argue that the film’s changes alienated fans of the original story.
While some view Zegler’s role as a disappointment, others see it as a stepping stone for her career, particularly as a musical performer. One article suggests that Snow White has confirmed Zegler’s potential as an actress and singer.

The Prince would be arrested for assault and rape, the Seven dwarfs would be arrested for harboring a fugitive and the Evil
Queen would get her own realty TV show............

Uh, wasn’t the “original” a book that the movie was based on?

I won't lie, I think she's actually a decent singer. She may have a career there.
But a career as a Hollywood actress? She's radioactive to both audiences and production companies right now, and given her tendency to open her mouth and have stupid things come out- even when explicitly warned not to- I don't see that changing any time soon. But for me the bottom line is this: at the age of 23 she's now had the lead or largest supporting role in 6 major motion pictures. 5 have lost money. The one exception was the Hunger Games prequel, which was already an established, multi-billion dollar IP, so giving her credit for that success seems a little misleading (and it was by far the least successful of the franchise anyway). Looking up the financials (except for Spellbound, which went to Netflix, but is known not to have been a success), before taking into account the current Snow White trainwreck, Ms. Zegler's film career has resulted in a net loss of approximately $250 million. Snow White could easily more than double that.
I don't know if anyone's dumb enough to hire her at this point; at least I should hope not. Of course, hard to predict what the woke crowd will do some times...
