In today’s Morning Jolt, I wrote that “we haven’t seen Joe Biden speak in person at any public event since Inauguration Day; on February 1, Biden offered a two-minute pre-taped video message at the Democratic National Committee’s winter meeting.”
A reader responds that Joe Biden did speak in public a few days ago, at the conference of the National High School Model United Nations.
What’s fascinating is that President Biden gave his first public remarks since leaving office… and this generated no news media coverage at all. I don’t mean it was downplayed or under-covered, I mean the Facebook post shown and linked above appears to be the only coverage of Biden’s appearance at all. There is no mention of “Biden high school Model United Nations” or “Biden NHSMUN” in Google News searches.
So, yes, Biden has spoken in person, in public, once since Inauguration Day. But it was an astonishingly well-hidden public appearance.

This is a bit surprising since he actually seems to have a lot of fans out there. If you look at the Facebook comments, they are largely complimentary, with some people even calling him the best president ever. And they’re all serious about this.

FWIW, I've always thought that "no, it does not make a sound." It DOES produce audio waves, but if there is nothing to interpret those waves then there is no sound.
