Most career Air Force/Space Force members will do at least one short term assignment, for which he they get a ribbon.
Any additional short term assignment does not require a new ribbon. The first ribbon simply gets a metal pieced affixed to the front of it to show how many assignments like it thst the person has done.
I know there are tons of ribbons, but this is one I don’t mind seeing. I think the service members make a huge sacrifice being away in a remote spot, especially if they have families.
Yeah. Not sure I feel the same way, but I suppose if it is one ribbon with multiple elements added, I guess that is not so inflationary.
Yep. My overseas’ Short Tour ribbon was given for a TDY over 179 days in Saudi Arabia (7+ months during 90-91 Gulf War)
Another thing is ribbons for any and everything. Retired with rack of nineteen ribbons.
