An immigration judge has given the Trump administration a deadline to provide evidence against Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil to justify stripping his immigration status and deporting him.
Louisiana Judge Jamee Comans, in a Tuesday hearing, gave the federal government until Wednesday to provide evidence against Khaliil, a 30-year-old legal resident who has been kept in a detention facility over the past few weeks.

Judges who issue “orders” so patently beyond and outside their legitimate authority are a leading cause of the widespread contempt for the judiciary (and law in general).
This is doing our society a great deal of harm.

A visa is a contract between USG(issued by State Department) and visa applicant and not a right. The USG asserts that visa holder has not abided by terms of visa.
This is the correct Immigration Judge in Louisiana that actually does have jurisdiction.

People bringing the case get to judge shop. Although the SCOTUS recently reprimanded judge shoppers that they have bring the case in the venue where the plaintiff is. If he’s being held in Texas, they can’t judge shop to Massachusetts. This won’t stop them from doing it, but it may make it less successful.
As to this case, I’d think anyone here who is not as a citizen can be thrown out without stated cause. Am I wrong?

Gouverneur Morris is supposed to have done the actual drafting of the text of the Constitution. Obviosuly he did a careless job by not making it clear that any action by a President can be countermanded by a judge, any judge, as long as the judge is of the opposing party. It took more than 200 years for judges to realize their inherent authority.
