The NFL has fired three officials.
Second-year umpire James Carter, third-year line judge Robin DeLorenzo and first-year down judge Robert Richeson were the officials sent back to the college ranks. DeLorenzo didn’t qualify for a postseason game in HER two seasons; and Richeson was not playoff eligible as a rookie.

I’m sure women can make those calls as good as men. hey can be just as bad too. Imagine 80k fans screaming at then not to mention the whole nation.
Incompetence alone...
Or something else in addition.
Two more reasons I don’t miss the NFL.
NFL season expected to spur record $35 billion in legal sports wagers
And that's just the legal betting...
(Throws flag and blows whistle) tweeet!!! That’s 5-yard penalty for toxic masculinity.
AI refs are coming soon. Just like trying to get rid of umps calling balls and strikes.
She’ll break down and cry.
Is the increase in legal online gambling driving an insistence on better and less gray area calling of games?
If and when the ref wearing the white hat is female. I’ll bet she’ll have blonde hair and be not so heavy around the hips. A black woman would not draw as many women to sit in front of the tv. The one black woman I did see on the sidelines had a big bazoola.
We’re being played.
When you pursue EXCELLENCE you will get diversity.... because excellence is not limited to any race, creed, religion, or gender. If the goal is excellence, diversity happen on its own accord as long as the playing field is somewhat fair.
Diversity, simply for diversities sake is the EXACT OPPOSITE OF EXCELLENCE... doing diversity simply for diversities sake ensures excellence will never be achieved.
The issue as I see it is this, yes, there absolutely has not been a fair playing field throughout US history. There absolutely have been, and continue to be unfair thing in our nations history. Anyone who denies that, well they are an unthinking idiot.
The problem comes in is that the belief that because of those past, and even current wrongs, will somehow be righted, if you just check boxes and meet quotas in hiring or university admissions, or whatever, is just fundamentally wrong and misguided.
Is it fair that poor children, particularly poor black children and stuck in public schools that absolutely fail them? No, its not. This robs them of their potential in life. Is it fair that, even in better schools, these children often are being “educated” by white liberals who fall for all the gobbledeegook and lower their expectations for these kids and never actually challenge many of them or expect great things from them? No, its not.
However the solution to this problem is not to say, Hey, IVY LEAGUE you have to let these kids in, even though they aren’t remotely at a level where they can actually handle it. You are setting them up for failure.
DEI is simply racism, period... Systemic, racism. No, its not “reverse racism” because there is no such thing as “reverse racism”... its just flat out racism. Its absolutely counter to any sort of pursuit of excellence.
When you are pursuing excellence, you don’t have quotas, you simply go out and try. to find the best person for what you need to do, period.
Unless you are doing market research for a product targeted at black lesbian women, a black lesbian woman’s voice is no more valuable than anyone else.
I am not so dumb that I don’t see the true inequities and issues that still exist in our society, they do, and we should do things to change them. HOwever DEI, sure as hell ain’t it and will do nothing long term to improve anything.
I thought the toxic masculinity penalty was a 15-yard automatic first down type of foul. Maybe even gets someone tossed from the game.
For starters, I’d look to see if there’s been an increase in the number or errors made in calls that are not reviewable.
I thought that, after growing up with football, college and pro, I’d miss it when we ditched it.
I don’t.
I just want to thank Deep State, the NFL, and the NCAA for making it so easy for me to do.
“AI refs are coming soon.”
Don’t think that’s in the works. The NFL, like most pro sports, is a game of enertainment rather than sport. This is why so many rules have been changed over the last 30+ years all accomplished by the owners to cater to the fan and increase their fan money. As long as they do this it will be up to the officials to maintain a level of play consistent with what the owners need to make the cash. So the calls are going to get even more subjective to please the butts in the seats whether it be at the stadium or on the tube.

Maybe it is just that the camera work and replays are much better than they once were.
I see more and more bad calls. And the bad calls seem to favor the same teams. The Chiefs got a lot of favorable calls. The Bills and Bengals got a lot of bad calls. A lot of times on pass plays receivers are going for the penalty not the catch.
Pass interference, tackles to the head and neck area, roughing the passer are not called fairly.
I remember a Bengals Ravens game when the receivers were all tackled and no penalty.
I still remember when they called it affirmative action instead of DEI.

The NFL’s part is to give us an 18 game schedule. They don’t know when enough is enough. The NCAA gave us a playoff system where top players don’t play.
We can blame the shortcomings of capitalism. Too much of a good thing in pursuit of the buck.
Yes, but AA were laws...
DEI Is voluntary stupidity by these organizations.
A bad sign for them that culling a few zebras is news.
