Far be it for me to disparage the undoubtedly unassailable scientific medical opinion of someone who was addicted to both alcohol and hard drugs, but your daughter might be just making excuses for why she refuses to give up that last bad habit.

It is NOT physically addictive. Psychologically, perhaps, but not physically.
When it's in the house, I use it. When not...don't miss it.
It's been almost a year now and don't even think about it.
