I've been using a Regal Poly Perk made in Kewaskum, Wisconsin, that is forty years old. It's been dependable and has made good coffee. I expect it to die any day but until then it's gonna' be keepin' on.

Agree.

One of our local coffee shops uses this machine:

It takes a little longer, and costs a little more, but it really is coffee at its best.

Where does the coffee go?

Ya puts the spoonful of instant coffee in da bottom of da cup. Den you pours the water in da percolator, and waits until de water is hot. Den ya pours da water into da cup!

Couple of days later, when you need more water in da pot, ya pours more water in da percolator.

(Every good engineer knows you never drink coffee kept hot more than two days. )

I love the chemist on Breaking Bad who developed a way to make a perfect cup of coffee. And of course meth.

And then there is lieutenant Bookman, the library cop, who recommends just keeping a jar of Taster’s Choice around.
