Due process is a legal term. A university is a semi-private institution.. should be private except for all the government money they suck up. There is no right to an online university profile. Or am I missing something?

I see it regularly - Chinese academics or research folks, who immigrated to the USA as adults, will often (not always though) have private companies and contacts back in China and will attempt to commercialize information and technology they have attained while working in the USA

This “industrial espionage” or technology leakage is the most common.

And yes, if it’s a very important technology targeted by the CCP, it will be outright government agents looking for this technology. This is less common, but still common enough - although the FBI has been chasing this for the last 15 years.

...causing concern among academics regarding their due process...

The university is an employer, not a government.

It’s worth remembering good ole IU is considered a significant (if not primary) actor in the creation of the gender neutral trans movement crap.

A very liberal college, that’s partly why they fired Bob Knight (IMO).

‘“ IU has a long history with gender-related research, partly due to the legacy of Alfred Kinsey, a biologist and sexologist who joined IU in the 1920s. Kinsey’s groundbreaking work on human sexuality—published in the Sexual Behavior in the Human Male (1948) and Sexual Behavior in the Human Female (1953)—challenged binary notions of gender and sexuality.”

Indiana University...and Wang is involved in data privacy or cybersecurity research...

Can’t help but wonder if he was involved with Sussmann and the Alfa bank hoax thing.

See Indiana U’s Professor L. Jean Camp, from Paul Sperry:

“Clinton campaign were peddling the Trump-Alfa conspiracy theory.

Camp called for a full-blown FBI investigation into the data she pushed in the media. When the FBI dropped the case in February 2017, Camp lashed out at the bureau for closing the Trump email probe after reopening the Clinton email case. In a March 2017 tweet, she fumed, “Why did FBI kill this story before election to focus on Her Emails?” She also called for people to “join the resistance” against Trump.

Camp did not return a request for comment.”
