| Great to see this vid of Trump and Ohtani in the Oval Office! Here in Japan my wife and I are living on a 5-year residency visa north of Tokyo... It's hard to find athletes with comparable fame in their home countries. Pelé, Caitlin Clark, Ted Williams, Wayne Gretsky, Steffi Graf, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods. Ohtani's presence is everywhere here in Nippon. Every day he plays for the Dodgers, the TV news features a short video clip of his play that day. And thanks largely to Ohtani, I can see all the Dodger games on national TV here. And the telecasts are free. So Ohtani meeting Trump in the Oval Office is PERFECT timing. It instantly diffuses the tariff controversy as the Japanese news media and government have been debating the last few days. Japan and the USA will work things out. And why shouldn't they? I just Googled and found:
