Children exposed to fluoridated water in the first 10 years of life had a lower risk for tooth decay but a higher risk for several serious neurodevelopmental disorders, according to a peer-reviewed study published Wednesday in BMC Pediatrics.

Autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intellectual disability and specific delays in development were all found at higher rates among children exposed to fluoride during their first decade of life.

“It appears from this study that the public health intervention of fluoridated water may have traded brain health for tooth health,” Children’s Health Defense Senior Research Scientist Karl Jablonowski said.

Agree.

Not seeing this as a primary cause.

So, this very small amount of fluoride, an ion of fluorine, goes to your teeth and nowhere else?

Re: "So, this very small amount of fluoride, an ion of fluorine, goes to your teeth and nowhere else?"

Nope.

It moves into your blood stream and eventually visits every cell in your body, just like hundreds of other trace compounds and elements.

The issue is - does it cause a "spectrum" of problem behaviors and symptoms in 3% of humans?

That depends on how many tort lawyers, judges, and dentists live in your country.

When my first baby was born ober 50 years ago, the hospital gave me floride drops for her. But I noticed a change in her..like widrawal. My mom noticed it too, so I stopped giving it to her. She improved, but when I tried again, the same thing happened, and again I stopped them. The visiting nurse was angry, but I didn’t care. No more floride for my baby. We’re talking a newborn here! We didmissed the nurse. My daughter was over 50 when she got her first cavity.

The other kids weren’t given floride either.

It’s strange to me how adamant people are regarding this stuff. i’m naturally skeptical and I trust no one. I’m never disappointed me because humans have a track record of being 100% wrong on everything. Years later we hear, “ oh yeah, asbestos kills you.” “Maybe you shouldn’t have chinamen manipulating your genes.” Guess what? Lucy and Desi and all the tV doctors were wrong- smoking actually kills you. And on and on. Is Flouride messing us up? It’s probably the least of our problems. Who knows. maybe 100 years from now we will hear the truth. After everyone who could be sued is safely dead.

For me the real point is that fluoride in toothpaste and rinses works fine. If I don’t brush my teeth no one else suffers tooth decay.

The government has no business force feeding me a chemical, beneficial, benign, or otherwise because it has decided I need to ingest it.
