The Saturday Night Live cast brutally slammed Elon Musk during the show's cold open, leaving the live audience - and viewers at home - groaning in discomfort.
The Tesla CEO, played by Mike Myers, was seen cutting off President Donald Trump - impersonated by James Austin Johnson - wearing a cheese hat like the Tesla CEO did on March 31 for a rally in Wisconsin.
'Say cheese! Hahahaha, kidding, kidding,' Myers said as he tossed the hat to the side.
'That was from when I tried to buy the election in Wisconsin, uhhhh, I'm an idiot, I should've just bought Wisconsin,' he added before suffering from a 'glitch' - a reoccurring mockery SNL makes of Musk.
Johnson then poked fun at Musk stepping down as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and said: 'Elon it was great, but sadly, it's time to never see you again, OK? You gotta get back to Tesla, right? Because they're doing pretty bad.'
'Yes, recently our dealerships have been the target of many attacks and suddenly, no one likes Tesla cars. So, I ask myself why and then I answered myself, 'cause of me,' Myers said as he broke into an awkward dance and chuckled.
The show made another pointed dig at the billionaire, as Myers announced the new Tesla 'Model V,' an electric car that is 'self-vandalizing' and comes with features like smashed headlights, slashed tires and 'AI-powered graffiti' that can either be in the shape of a penis or Swastika.
The show's takedown of Musk left many viewers uncomfortable and angry, as one called the skit 'really poor,' adding: 'Making fun of high functioning Asperger's is so typical of the mentally ill left,' referring to the tech CEO's diagnosis he went public with four years ago on SNL.

It sounds to me like they’re using canned laughter. It’s so on cue that it has to be a machine doing it. Really, you don’t even know it’s supposed to be funny until you hear it.
I am always surprised how far a public figure, who is long out of the limelight, will go trying to get back in.

I turned it off when it stopped being funny. I look at clips as they pop up, but haven’t watched a total of more than half an hour all together in 40 years
Haven’t watched SNL since 1980. I’ll admit, I do enjoy the SNL Jeopardy skits with “Sean Connery” and “Burt Reynolds” on uTube. The Black Jeopardy skits with the token white are hilarious.
the only time I think about SNL is when I see posts from conservatives griping about it. Otherwise, I would not even know this show existed.
Actually, they were never really funny. People (including myself) have fond memories of the early years with so many comedians that went on to be stars, but even in the early years, the show actually sucked. They had maybe 10 skits every season that were funny at the time, but if you go back and watch them, it's incredible how amateurish they were. Try watching a full show, not just one skit of the 20 or so "classics" that are memorable.
If you just watched the "best of SNL" that plays every New Years Eve, you would think it was a great show. Kind of like a trailer for a 2 hour movie, where you see the best 2 minutes of the show, and the other hour and 58 minutes are terrible.

I have with both SNL and SCTV. SCTV still holds up. In college, SNL was always there and we watched it occasionally if awake and nothing else was going on but SCTV was funny and we made time to watch that. We never laughed as hard at things on SNL that we did for SCTV. SNL never really got past occasional chuckle funny. Now, SNL is completely lame and it going after Musk and Trump makes it so much worse.
Clearly many FREEPERS do as it’s a main topic every Sunday.
I doubt there is enough beer in Milwaukee or narcotics in New York City to make SNL funny.

NBC…….what a gang of thugs and thugettes. Just saw NBC’s lead in for “NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH LESTER HOLT”. Not sure who she was but she started with ……..“Markets bracing for another sell off tomorrow, no sign Trump is backing down from THE TRADE WAR HE STARTED”.
