Congress to grill reclusive White House doctor on Biden’s mental decline as Republicans probe ‘shadow presidency'
NY Post ^ | 04/05/2025 | Josh Christenson

The Republican lawmaker said a House panel “will look into whether or not we actually had a shadow presidency for a large part of [Biden’s] term,” though it’s unclear whether any committee is preparing for the probe just yet.

The reclusive O’Connor, who told The Post Biden’s mental fitness was “excellent” just four days after his boss was forced out of the 2024 race, was asked last year to come in for questioning before the GOP-led House Oversight Committee, though it’s unclear if he ever responded to the voluntary request.

Jackson said House GOP lawmakers also want to haul in doctors and other experts who may have “tested and evaluated” Biden, who was 82-years-old when running for re-election, for “Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s and whatever else.”

One Parkinson’s specialist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Dr. Kevin Cannard, visited the White House eight times between July 2023 and March 2024, per visitor logs, though O’Connor stressed that just three of those visits were held with the president for annual physicals.

Asked whether Americans should be concerned about the visits, O’Connor told The Post last July: “No, he’s good.”

The White House earlier that year said O’Connor believed the commander-in-chief “doesn’t need a cognitive test” — even as Biden had mixed up the names of dead and living foreign dignitaries in public remarks, and was not prosecuted by Robert Hur in part because the special counsel said a jury would view him as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

People may realize that the 25th Amendment is useless if you don’t use it for it’s intended purpose.

And then people might start wondering about the intended purpose of the Second Amendment.

HIPPA and medical ethics keeps him from saying much. Maybe his own statements, but that doesn’t go far.

The difference between legitimate (medical/intellectual decline) and illegitimate (political/coup) uses of the 25th Amendment to remove a sitting U.S. President from power, can be hard to know for sure.

The stakes.

Stop telling the truth about Biden’s decline and you lose the book deal. They don’t want “a great statesman tries for one last contribution of service to his beloved nation.”

But otherwise they’d admit they all knew he didn’t know what he was doing when he signed or had a magic pen sign the executive orders and commutations of sentences. Some days he didn’t recognize advisors and colleagues from the recent past.

Then the GOP could order those and the pardons of Biden family and cronies like Fauci and Liz Cheney to be improperly executed and thus disallowed.

Like the lack of sound mind for a codger who made his will giving a fortune and a mansion to the attorney and the squirrel the old man dressed in little suits to split evenly.

Did you really want Kamala Harris as president?

Because this is how you get her as president.

Yes, just a bunch of posturing by bombastic people. Sound and fury signifying nothing.

With Republicans the rhetoric always exceeds the results.

“The reclusive O’Connor”

I bet he is reclusive, just a tad. And I bet he keeps a wary eye on his back.
