The second possibility would involve massive Chinese missile strikes devastating Taiwan’s defenses and overloading its Patriot and other missile defense systems. Beijing’s army of “patriotic hackers” would crash the ROC power grids and shut down the internet and phone networks. Simultaneously, 100,000 PLA troops would hit the island’s beaches.
Given the 12-hour time difference with Washington, “before the US wakes up.” Beijing’s objective would be to “seize [the capitol] Taipei in days and present the world with a done deal.”

So if ships, escorted by American, Japanese, South Korean warships, sail to/from Taiwan, and China sinks them it won’t be war? Not sure I’m following your thought.
Taiwans air capability alone is around 400 combat air assets. Many are upgrated F16s.
The army is at around 3 to 400 thousand with around 1 million in reserves.
South Korea ranks among the top five militaries worldwide.
Japans navy is one of the most capable in the world and its defence capabilities rank in the top ten worldwide.
The Chinese will get chewed up a spit out and they know it.
Its all bluster. They think they are something but aint shit. Hell, they’d have a hard time replacements since the general population have attitudes towards the givernment....just dont hear it.
We have enough ASMs to sink the Chinese navy 40 times over.
Before we even get to the torpedoes that would be aboard the 10-15 subs in the area.
And enough AAMs to burn every airframe they have 40 times over.
As for the referenced month, a sea/air battle with China would last less than 10 days before a certain victor emerges. It would be a short, but exciting life for the PLAN and PLAAF.
Oh, and our sh!t works, first time every time.
“… 100,000 PLA troops …”
And then, it comes down to the grunt with the rifle, and the will and determination to hold out
Same as it always has.
Kill all they Send until they stop sending them.
The US surveils strategic schwartz punkts 24/7/365. Taiwan is one of the top priorities. The assumption that the US defense ever sleeps is ridiculous. 12 hour time difference, my a@@.
How many military-age Chinese youths are in the “Let it rot” movement.
“I didn’t know different time zones had 27 hour days!”
Well, at least I got it in the ball park.
well, then those B-2’s are in perfect position. Just doing warm up exercises currently.
They ready
We could always quietly give Taiwan a few tactical nukes.....
If China does do something like this, our response should be an immediate severing of all relations with China.
No trade.
No investment.
No visas.
No diplomatic relations.
Nothing.
Also, urge as many of our allies (especially Japan and Australia) as possible to sever all relations with China as well. Their economy will be ruined.
“Seize the capital in days..”
Where did we hear THAT before? Oh yeah, in a place called Ukraine on February 24, 2022 when the Russians invaded.
The PLAN can rebuild, we can’t quickly. If you think the USN is not going to take some serious casualties think again.
If they were counting on US not to wake up, the Chinese missed their 4 year chance under Biden.
Then what happens when Taiwan is able to sneak in one bomb on Three Gorges Dam?
Don't you think the ChiComs have that dam heavily defended from air attack?
Even mentioning a time difference as a reason for winning shows the stupidity of the writer. There is no time differences during war.
I bet they will not—with Trump in power, China will not try an overt act—like an invasion. Covert ones yes, like backing a pro-unification party in Taiwan—electing them and doing it from within.
12 hour time difference? Its not 1938. We’d know what was going on in about 20 seconds.
We knew about Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait several weeks beforehand.
