Small spurts of goo to impart course corrections.
The idea is that the satellite extends an array of tubes, most of which spray the high expansion liquid polymer, which at first is soft in sunlight, but then hardens. The remaining tubes act like retro rockets, providing guidance.
These just modify the trajectory of the ball as a whole, with the main satellite body making most of the thrust for the new course.
