Texas high school football star Austin Metcalf stabbed in the heart, left to die in twin brother’s arms at track meet: dad

A Texas high school star athlete was stabbed in the heart and left to die in his loving twin brother’s arms following a fight over a seat at a track meet, the boy’s heartbroken father said.

Austin Metcalf was attending a track and field championship between other area schools at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas when the fatal attack happened on April 2.

Metcalf, a junior at Frisco ISD’s Memorial High School, was in the stands of the stadium when a confrontation broke out between the teen and 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony.

Anthony, a senior at Centennial High School, was allegedly told he was sitting in the wrong seat when he drew a knife and launched his attack, Metcalf’s father Jeff Metcalf told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.

Anthony, 17, allegedly stabbed Metcalf in the chest as his victim’s brother, Hunter, watched in horror.

That’s the right way to look at it.

I agree.

WHERE do you get the idea Metcalf bullied Karmelo?

Karmelo brought a knife to a track meet. He killed a good kid from a good family.

Metcalf was an A student and sports star who wasn’t bullying anyone - nowhere in this or any other report is it said he bullied … he just asked someone in his assigned seat to move. Then a knife in the heart.

READ THE ARTICLE, INDEED.

The definition of Capital Murder in Texas law is lengthy so only copied the part a deemed pertinent.

Sec. 19.03. CAPITAL MURDER. (a) A person commits an offense if the person commits murder as defined under Section 19.02(b)(1) and:

(2) the person intentionally commits the murder in the course of committing or attempting to commit kidnapping, burglary, robbery, aggravated sexual assault, arson, obstruction or retaliation, or terroristic threat under Section 22.07(a)(1), (3), (4), (5), or (6);

This murder would appear to be intensional and not accidental and so Capital Murder.

You don't stab a fellow human being in the chest unless you intend for them to die.

At least that is how I would vote on his jury.

My guess is that this Yout has adopted the thug mentality where human life is cheap and his need for everyone to respect him at first glance is essential to his self worth.

Then the fact that the person ‘disrespecting’ him was white was just something that called out for lethal force.

"There is an interview with the victims twin brother, the Stabber was sitting in a tent for the team. He was not invited. He was asked to leave. The brother went grab the stabbers backpack and that's when he was killed by the stabbers knife."

You and I must have watched the same interview. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMf1SApdnb4

At 5:00, the twin brother describes what happened. It doesn't sound like bullying. But it's definitely a case where an altercation escalated within seconds.

The brother says the killer was sitting in their tent. They asked him to move. He "started getting aggressive and talking reckless." The victim "stepped in" and told him he needed to move. The killer dared him to make him move. The victim grabbed the killer's backpack, and the killer stabbed him.

It's not clear who first asked the killer to move. The brother says the victim "stepped in." (Maybe the victim was defending his brother and other people in the tent?)

There's no mention of a video, so the case might depend on witness statements. The defense will probably argue that the killer acted in self-defense. Without a doubt, the defense will make the victim's size and strength an issue, and they will point out that the victim was much bigger than the killer.

But the killer must have been looking for trouble: He brought a knife to a track meet. When he was asked to move from the wrong tent, he flipped out and dared the victim to make him move. When the victim grabbed his backpack, the killer stabbed him.

Within seconds, he took the life of a 17-year-old... over something so stupid.

Karmelo needs to fry, but he will spend minimal time in jail.

Exactly why i am in the process of getting a gun permit which is not exactly easy in the communist state of New York. I’ve seen one too many ferals kill people for the slightest provocation, ferals that have a line of arrests, felony convictions as long as their arm and yet they are out walking the streets.

I saw a video yesterday of a white guy talking to a black woman about her tattoos as he’s a tattoo artist when all of a sudden her feral boyfriend gets out of his car, runs across the street, points a gun in the guys face furious he dared to talk to his girlfriend and he shoots him in the face, just like that, his life is over at 23

Horrible. Too bad Virginia doesn’t have the death penalty. His girlfriend should have been charged for murder, too. She knew her boyfriend was dangerous, yet she initiated a conversation with the victim and gave him her number. Then, she ran off with her boyfriend after the shooting. They jumped in a BMW and rode off.

I bet both of them have extensive criminal records. It never fails, every single time something like this happens the thugs got long records.

I’m an old, fart, I remember in the 1960s, 1970s, if someone committed a robbery, or any other kind of felony, that person was finished, utterly finished for the next 20 years at least. Yet I constantly read about these thugs charged with murder with robbery convictions, assault convictions, gun charges, theft, and they’re out walking the street in their 20s!!

The stabber’s lawyer definitely will argue self-defense...

This update just popped up in my news feed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnXZofpMW8Y

It gives more details:

- It was raining when Anthony sat under the tent for Austin’s team.
- A witness said Austin told Anthony to move because he didn’t go to their school.
- The witness said, “Anthony grabbed his bag, opened it, and reached inside and proceeded to tell Austin, ‘Touch me and see what happens.’”
- Then, per the report, Austin “grabbed Anthony to tell him to move,” and “Anthony pulled out a black knife and stabbed Austin once in the chest and then ran away.”
- When Anthony was arrested, he told officers, “He put his hands on me. I was protecting myself.”

Many people online (including FR) are looking at this case through the lens of race.

I am not. If the roles were reversed, my opinion would be the same.

Maybe Anthony took cover under the nearest tent during the rain.

But, it doesn’t sound like self-defense because he could have walked away. He could have complained about their poor sportsmanship. He could have made their team look really bad.

Instead, he was quick to pull out the knife he brought. But the case is not as clear cut as many people believe.

RE: The murder of Michael Faison

"I constantly read about these thugs charged with murder with robbery convictions, assault convictions, gun charges, theft, and they’re out walking the street in their 20s!!"

It seems the prisons are so full now. They let people walk away.

It is murky with the additional details. It is a mixed bag. Not sure how to
rule. Anthony fled doesn’t help. Anthony clould have just walked away when asked to leave. Austin could have acted differently too. If Austin did, then he would be still alive.

This is a tragedy that could have been avoided.

Sorry, but... here’s another update.

I have to post it because it refutes the last one I posted.

The brother was interviewed again. Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/saNg07ubeoY?t=237

At 2:37, he gives more detail. He said they found Anthony (the stabber) sitting under their tent when they returned to it.

He says Anthony was sitting behind him, and Anthony said something uncalled-for to him.

He asked Anthony who he was, and Anthony became aggressive.

And that’s why they asked him to leave.

OK, I will stop with the updates now.

We need prisons like the one in El Salvador but of course liberals will protest that. If it was up to me I’d execute these bastards right after conviction.

How do you like he points the gun right in the guys face, because he wanted him to reach for it so he’d have an excuse to shoot him.

If that happened to my son or brother I would lose my mind, I don’t know how a father or brother, sister, mother ever gets over something like that, I don’t think they ever do.

God help me I hate liberals so damn much, so many innocent lives lost and they could care less.

He was the aggressor because he addressed their darling. What he said was immaterial. The unforgivable sin he committed was in having the audacity to address their god.
