In 2022, the median household income for Indian Americans was $145,000, significantly higher than the overall US median of $69,717 and the median for Asian Americans overall ($100,000).
Not sure what that has to do with this.
Is there more to read at the site...x? :)
The site that FR posts live and die by now :)
In the US Asians are the most affluent...whites are next...Hispanics next...and blacks are the least affluent.
“In 2022, the median household income for Indian Americans was $145,000...”
I wonder how many Indians know that? Probably not many or their leadership would have already been run off the reservations.
In 1980, I got hired off the Civil Service test for Correctional Officer for NY State. My starting salary was a little over $12,000. That was my salary for six months as a C.O. trainee. After the six months, I went to a little over $14,000. I never got to go to the academy until 9 months after I began working. They were short staffed, and I agreed to go to the facility first, then go to the academy later. I chose to do it that way, because there was no guarantee that they would ever call me again, or if they did, that I'd get the choice of facility to go to. I was a 33 year old divorced mother of two at the time, and moved us 3 hours away to Auburn, NY in order to take the job.
The job I left was as a Head Clerk for the County here. My salary was approximately $6200. When I took the job with the State, it was the most money I had ever made in my life up to that time, and felt like I was rich at the time. I did my 25 years and retired. I had 33 years total in the retirement system when I left. With my pension and social security, I'm making about $65,000 a year, just about the same amount I was making when I retired. I still feel very fortunate.
