Iran will deliver 'strong blow' against US if it attacks, Khamenei says

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday the U.S. would receive a strong blow if it acts on President Donald Trump's threat to bomb unless Tehran reaches a new nuclear deal with Washington.

Trump reiterated his threat on Sunday that Iran would be bombed if it does not accept his offer for talks outlined in a letter sent to Iran's leadership in early March, giving Tehran a two-month window to make a decision.

Iran handed a warning on Monday about Trump's threats to Switzerland's embassy, which represents U.S. interests and acts as an intermediary between Washington and Tehran, state media said. In its warning, Tehran expressed determination to respond "decisively and immediately" to any threat.

"The enmity from the U.S. and Israel has always been there. They threaten to attack us, which we don’t think is very probable, but if they commit any mischief they will surely receive a strong reciprocal blow," Khamenei said.

"And if they are thinking of causing sedition inside the country as in past years, the Iranian people themselves will deal with them," he added.

Aren’t you getting enough war in Ukraine? Now you want to hype another one in Iran. You are one ghoulish blood thirsty freak, that’s for sure.

Le Pen’s conviction sending shockwaves across Europe that is for sure.

Are you watching Israel two top aides to Benjamin Netanyahu arrested today. Mr. Netanyahu questioned about them by a special police unit.

Stay tuned for further developments.

But yes, Trump is rattling Iran’s cage and Geert Wilders wants the President of Turkey overthrown.

Netanyahu met the Greek PM last night and meets a big Marine Le Pen supporter Viktor Orban doing a four-day visit to Hungary starting Wednesday.

It may mean activating the Iranian sleeper networks here in the US and abroad. What else would they be saving them for?

As long as Iran remains unpunished for the sack of the US embassy and the taking of the hostages, the mullah regime, a throwback to the 11th century, will continue to exist and the terrorism it sponsors.

They actually threatened US bases in the region not a bad idea I think Trump wanted to provoke them to attack Israel to help Netanyahu politically.

Warfare has become much more sophisticated and accurate. At least by western countries. Israel has shown you can precision strike even inside cities with minimal civilian damage provided they heed the warning to evacuate. It won’t be like the Balkans or even Kabul. If the IRGC refuses to open up productive dialogue I am all for bombing their nuclear facilities. Very few people have to die. In fact none have to die if they just evacuate the targets or decide on their own to stand down. Just remove the chess pieces off the board (nuclear sites and weapons silos) and then let their own people take care of the rest. If the IRGC gets stupid and tries to launch indiscriminate attacks against others then they will pay deeper consequences. Their best move is to just relent now. It is in nobody’s interest to let them develop a nuclear arsenal to blackmail or destroy the world when it can be prevented without bloodshed.

Iran simply cannot be allowed to achieve nuclear weapons capability. I have no idea how close they are to that goal. So what is the solution?

“Iran and Russia are quite mouthy today.”

They have finally noticed they are at risk.
Iran needs to deliver oil, and we can deny them the ability to drill, collect, and deliver. Further we can essentially wipe out the ability to support Russian with drones. Russia without drones, in a drone war. This is like being blind, deaf, and dumb on a very lethal battlefield.

When you can project power, you don’t need to talk about it. Sure, you can advertise as a warning, but you don’t go much beyond that. Iran and Russia are vocal, because they understand the risk of US intervention in Iran.

I thought Trump campaigned on disengaging the U.S. from foreign entanglement.

Now we are bombing the Houthis in Yemen.

Is this all because of Israel?

It used to be that Israel was going to take out Iran's nukes. Now it looks like we've volunteered to do the job.

Is this Jared Kushner redux?

Remember, Trump's daughter always has his ear.

If the Persian people get rid of the IRGC there will probably be little need for so many US bases in the region. I have no beef with the Iranian people but their leaders, who took control by violence, have to go. They can leave on their own, or the Persian people can run them off. We can help by simply taking away their nuclear sites and the obvious and most dangerous military assets and that will be enough for the Persian people to finish the job. Trump has been very patient and restrained dealing with them. He did drone strike that Soleimani guy, but he deserved it he was the guy in charge of training and equipping Iraqi Shia militias to attack, maim and kill Americans in Iraq. But when Iran took down one of our drones Trump did nothing. When asked why Trump said something to the effect of “it was just a machine, it was not necessary to kill people for destroying a machine”. I like this policy.

President Trump campaigned on ending Putin’s invasion of Ukraine as well as preventing Iran from building nukes.

The Iranian opposition likes that term “Persian” they are the old monarchy the Shah and so on.

I’m realizing this morning that “Tariffs Away” is dictated by current events and is the preferable alternative to “Bombs Away”

So tariffs away President Trump.

I understand you support Russia and Iran, but Marcus isn’t posting stuff that Iran didn’t say.

They are typical non-western, boisterous, bombastic comments. Think “Mother of All Wars” horsehockey crap that Saddam used to say. Those things are typical of Iran and Russia.

Now, should we take them seriously? I take them as seriously as I would from any loud drunk carrying a gun. They probably aren’t going to shoot the place up—-but there is that chance that they might.

The bombings in Yemen have almost nothing to do with Israel. JD Vance made a good point, why are we protecting the Red Sea shipping lanes when we don’t need them at all? Europe needs them and the Middle East needs them. But we need European trade and oil to flow. And as Sec of defense Hegseth said, only we can do it. The Saudis fought the Houthis for years. If not for Iranian support they would just be a rag tag band of rebels driving around in pickup trucks with machine guns. The Saudis should have been able to pick them off but couldn’t. So the Saudis just bribed them to stop attacking Saudi and took the old regime leaders in for protection. Bad idea to pay blackmail to Iran or their proxies.
