President Donald Trump said he was “very angry” and “pissed off” when Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the credibility of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s leadership, adding that the comments were “not going in the right location.”
Agence France-Presse reported that Putin on Friday called for a transitional government to be put in place in Ukraine, which could effectively push out Zelenskyy.
“If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia’s fault — which it might not be — but if I think it was Russia’s fault, I am going to put secondary tariffs on oil, on all oil coming out of Russia,” Trump said in an early-morning phone call with NBC News on Sunday.
“That would be that if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States,” Trump said. “There will be a 25% tariff on all oil, a 25- to 50-point tariff on all oil.”

Is NBC ever going to release that full interview?
Tell Putin to get with the program and accept President Trump’s Easter ceasefire deal. The clock is ticking.
Putin’s a bastard, and I think he wants as much of Ukraine as he can get and doesn’t care who gets killed.
Trump is negotiating in a situation where someone on his side - Z - has gone off the rails. It doesn’t help when Putin is portrayed as going off the rails. Trump’s position is look I got this stay out of it. Z is being utterly unreasonable and his side needs to understand from my how bad it will be, from me, if he doesn’t start being reasonable. Putin being unreasonable just weakens that position.
The Russians produce enough gold to buy all the machine tools they can’t produce themselves.
If the Russians can’t sell oil, then Russian children won’t be able to get Chinese-made toys for Christmas. It would only be a matter of time before a Russian Grinch is created that looks like Trump.
“Putin’s a bastard, and I think he wants as much of Ukraine as he can get and doesn’t care who gets killed.”
The longer the war goes on, the greedier he’ll get.
There we go.
I support Trump. Period.
Always better to be pissed off than pissed on.
Why don’t they post the full sentence of the quote talked about in the title?
This is terrible journalism.
The odds that they misrepresented what was said in some respect is very high
President Trump: Russia is “bombing the hell out of” Ukraine but argued that Russian President Vladimir Putin had “all the cards”
I think a lot of people are waking up to that. And Putin’s charm offensive toward Trump is as deep as the shallow end of the baby pool.
Putin may not. So Trump is going to have to send Ukraine better weapons to force Putin to come to the table to negotiate.
Once a KGB agent....
A bunch of posturing via bluster.
Always a KGB agent.
I have been waiting for this to happen.
Your first mistake is believing NBC news without a full transcript of the interview.
