Articles like this (and I’ve seen a few lately) miss the point.

The authors always assume that the problem is that scientists just aren’t communicating effectively or with empathy. But there is another issue they overlook completely: the fact that antivaxxers are extremely good at creating antivax rhetoric. Their rhetoric is not random: they specifically create the rhetoric to undermine the scientific message. The antivaxxers who create the rhetoric are, in most cases, highly educated in a STEM field and understand the science well enough to be able to create lies that the average person cannot distinguish from real science.

Until the scientific community comes up with a good counter to targeted, specifically-written antivax propaganda, we’re always going to be fighting this battle.

Another aspect of the problem is the deterioration of our educational system. Teaching kids nonsense like “Heather has two mommies” at the expense of science and mathematics has created a couple of generations of people who are completely unable to think critically or to discern unscientific nonsense from real science. Antivaxxers take a lot of advantage of people who were failed by the education system.

Debate shouldn’t be stifled period. That’s like saying we can’t discuss closing our borders because of white supremacist KKK crazies who happen agree with that too. Calling everyone who voices dissent antivax is like calling everyone racist. Trump was censored and kicked off social media for his so called “rhetoric.”

The same medical authorities who want to take away freedom for parents to make their own INFORMED decisions regarding their children’s care — are the same fascist medical officials seeking to shape the laws to do gender surgeries behind parents’ backs, the same who want to cover up Covid’s Wuhan origins, the same officials who refuse to fund the very research that would explain why some kids are prone to side effects even while most are not - and how to keep everyone safe and healthy in the end!

The sensibilities go hand in hand. Everyone against the medical experts aka gods is “antivax” — when even doctors who are pro-vax and regularly vaccinate their own patients get persecuted for saying anything remotely challenging to the system.

A far larger proportion of the “anti-vaxx” rhetoric you speak of is demonstrably true, while a vast amount of the “pro-vaxx” rhetoric has been proven completely false.

I left my job over getting the shot. Several of my co-workers are permanently injured from something, and their illness very closely follows their getting the shot and booster

I am not alone with these experiences, so the onus really is on folks like you that are denying the facts and still shilling for the clot-shot.

For the record, I’m not anti-vaxx, I’m anti experimental gene therapy. I’m more than happy to be part of the control group, and I don’t know a single person that regrets not getting the shot, while I know many who do.

Ya know...it was the hard press on this shot that told me to not trust it. All the ads, the push for EVERYONE ( except of course govt workers, congress, etc.) Well, that and lack of normal long term studies. I believe there are certain vaxes worth getting, but the hard press with babies and toddlers and their shot schedule is also another red flag. So “rhetoric” is not the problem. Some of us were not born yesterday.

"Antivaxxer" is a propaganda term directed at people who were very much pro-vaccine until these pharmaceutical korporations, conspiring with government employees, unleashed the Jim Jones Jab.

It's not a vaccine, regardless of what they changed their definition to.

It was so safe that they have immunity issued by corrupt governments, the same governments which exempted their own members. Why were they exempt? Answer that. Why were they exempt?

The government and the pharmaceutical korporations conspired to censor anyone who reported injuries.

Why was the shot given out on street corners and not in doctors' officers? Hmmm?

The told the filthy, stupid, sociopathic lie that people needed to get it to keep others WHO HAD THE SHOT from getting it.

Then, even after the O M M O I R C O R N O I N C variant showed the Jim Jones Jab didn't work, they still pushed it.

First, do no harm. Isn’t that the hypocratic oath?

Prove the vaccine is safe. PROVE that it is safe. But don’t you dare preach to me that it is a messaging issue - ONE counterexample is enough to scuttle a safety trial for many poential vaccines, much less the hundreds that were ignored for the new MRNA poisons.

The definition of “vaccine” was changed to accept the COVID BS. The definition of “experimental” was abused to well beyond reasonableness.

And you blame “messaging”? Really? How pathetic.
