Then something squirrelly is going on if he is getting a $10,000 EITC yearly from the federal government.

About the only way he should be getting that would be filing as head of household with three or four dependents.

Even at that $10,000 is way to much. EITC is capped at under $8,000.

He might be moving back in with you if he has to repay that. And even if it was a government glitch you have to repay.
