    It was not that many years ago that states maintained tuberculosis “Sanitariums “ where TB patients were quarantined mostly involuntarily. Though patients were generally treated humanely, they were not free to leave and the wards were locked. The facilities persisted until the early 1950s when antibiotics and anti tubercular drug treatments were available that cured or arrested the disease. My aunt spent about seven years in a TB sanitarium before she successfully treated.

    "New York Greenlights Quarantine Camps" LOL - former New York Governor Andy Cuomo was way ahead of the curve years ago. He called them Nursing Homes.

    When I moved to Rome, Georgia, in 1963, they had a huge tuberculosis hospital (Battey State Hospital). The facility sat on a tract of land about one half mile by one half mile. Some people were kept there as long as 9 years.
