Republican Randy Fine holds the edge ahead of a Special Election for Congress. Republican Randy Fine holds the edge ahead of a Special Election for Congress. But his lead over Democrat Josh Weil falls within the poll’s margin of error despite the heavy GOP tilt of Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
That’s according to a survey done for Florida Politics by St. Pete Polls ahead of the Tuesday Special Election to succeed former U.S. Rep. Mike Waltz.
The results show Fine winning just over 48% of the vote, while Weil received just over 44%.
The poll of 403 likely voters in CD 6 was conducted on March 22. Pollsters report a 4.9% margin of error, greater than Fine’s lead.
And among those polled who said they already voted, more than half supported the Democrat. Weil leads 51% to 43% among those whose decision has already been made via a mail-in ballot or in-person early voting. According to the survey, about 38% of likely voters have already cast their ballots in the race.
That means Fine will have to make up the difference with those who vote between now and the close of polls on Tuesday at 7 p.m. if he intends to move into Congress. He definitely hopes for that, having already submitted an irrevocable resignation letter from the Florida Senate to run.
But Weil has massively outraised Fine. As of reports on fundraising through March 12, Weil had $1.3 million in cash on hand for the race’s final stretch, while Fine had just $93,000.
Actually it’s about 6 counties. I was making calls for Randy today and will continue to do so through til Tuesday
The ‘RAT, Weil leads 51% to 43%. The ‘RATs have put millions into this race to regain the House and impeach Trump. What will happen election day? Many Republicans don’t know there is an election while the ‘Rats probably have busses to round up voters.
The Waltz disaster gets even bigger.
Unforced errors can lose matches.
Republicans generally do NOT show up for special elections..
That is how the rats can win this one.
I think the PA election was a for a state senator
Trump could possibly direct Blondi to investigate House (and Senate} democRATs for all of their crimes. The revelations may hurt the ‘Rat vote.
And how badly did DJT lose Iowa last November?
Red meat for Surrender Monkeys to get charged up over but if we vote we win.
We will hold this one.
Where do the democrats keep getting ALL this money from?!?
Neither do normal democrats.
RECORD CLEARED, POLITICAL CONSULTANT BACK AT WORK"In March (2007), Schorsch pleaded no contest to two counts of grand theft and one count of scheming to defraud two candidates and the Greater Tarpon Springs Democratic Club.
Sentenced to house arrest, probation, community service and restitution, Schorsch was banned from working in politics while on probation. Soon he was accused of violating that, too. But in a deal that wiped out his sentence, Schorsch last month was released from the conditions of his probation.
And he's back in business.
St. Petersburg City Council member Leslie Curran said she fired Schorsch after a check he used to pay for campaign signs bounced. Council member Earnest Williams said he fired Schorsch after he failed to deliver mail pieces and didn't send out absentee ballots.
In 2006, Schorsch was charged with writing 16 worthless checks totaling more than $1,200 for cash at Publix. He pleaded guilty and was fined.
Schorsch told the Times that he wrote the checks to cover debts he incurred gambling on basketball games.
Then, in 2006, Schorsch was arrested on charges he stole nearly $10,000 from the Democratic club, and from Ed Helm and Eve Joy, who ran for mayor and a seat on the St. Petersburg City Council, respectively, in 2005.
Schorsch took their money and did no work. After pleading no contest, he was sentenced to two years of house arrest and three years of probation, during which he was prohibited from working in campaigns.
That's not all of his trouble. Schorsch also still has not paid a $66,500 fine levied in 2006 by the Florida Elections Commission for unrelated election violations."
Ok
See post #33.
Who cares who controls Congress - my only two goals are Trump being president and RINOs being destroyed in Congress. Right, purists?
there are no “normal” democrats.
#RINORandy #NotSoFine has been undermining the conservative agenda in the Legislature. Nobody likes him. With ANY other candidate, this would be a GOP runaway.
The Left never sleeps. They never stop. Our side does. The Left is fine with it taking 30, 40 years, even beyond their own lifetimes for their agenda to get through. They never stop.
We could blame it on the establishment...but unfortunately, it is our base mostly to blame. It is understandable as our side is devoted to faith, family, friends, and jobs - not just their activism and agenda...but we cannot lay down our guard and sit on our behinds and keep our wallets closed like this and expect to win long term vs. blips of victories every now and then. Everything Trump has accomplished in these couple of months can be easily erased in the future. And losing this special election would be a huge hit for any momentum and “spook” the congressional Republicans who are hard enough to unite and get on board to begin with.
Talk radio and other conservative media isn’t what it used to be. There is no rallying cry for our side to get involved like their used to be. Scant attention is paid to these races and how critical they are - just passing mentions if anything by comparison to how it used to be.
So the Democrat base would not have sent tens of millions to the Dem opponent and gotten so organized there but for Randy Fine?
