TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — All 67 county sheriffs in Florida have now entered into agreements with federal authorities that will lead to “street-level” immigration enforcement, Gov. Ron DeSantis said.
DeSantis’s announcement Wednesday evening at the Homestead Air Force Base in Miami-Dade County comes days after the Florida Sheriff’s Association said every county jail in the state has entered into agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that will give local officers some immigration authority.
Under the 287(g) program, ICE operates three different models that give local law enforcement the ability to act in some capacity as immigration officers: the Jail Enforcement Model, the Warrant Service Officer model and the Task Force Model . The last model is what each of Florida’s county sheriffs have now agreed to as of Wednesday and is an arm of the program that DeSantis said was “dormant” under former President Joe Biden’s administration.

Gotcha. Orlando.
Same at our Walmart! Used to be that you’d ask one of the employees where something was and they just shrugged their shoulders like they didn’t understand English. We went to the manager and asked him why don’t these people speak English and he said it was a requirement before they got the job so I’m assuming they were all BS ing. Either way, most of them are gone now!
I’m seeing far less suspected illegals now than just a few weeks ago.
Exception being Home Depot of course....but it’s still a drop off there as well.
Meanwhile, from NYS...

If the above is true, the NYSP has become a Praetorian Guard for Deep State.
Now this lowers the NYS Police in my mind, they have now become untrustworthy. Better off relying on the sheriffs.
Yeah, I was gonna say, many of the Walmart employees aren’t speaking English either.
That bugs me....if your gonna live here at least have the common decency to speak our damned language
Good to hear. Thanks V.
I know, it’s a beautiful thing. My only concern is that I like a strong two-party system, it’s like a governor on a race car, it makes the parties cooperate for progress. Democrats are in danger of becoming a rump party, a permanent minority. That’s good for now since they are so extreme, but I hope it leads Dems to kick out the loons and become a useful party again.
Between this and Sheriff Grady I am tempted to move back home to Florida.
This is good, let the blue states have all the illegals. They’ll be forced to wake up eventually and will look very stupid as the process works itself out.
As we speak, Oregon is trying to use state tax money to pay for illegal’s medical, which the Trump aministration is going to with hold.
After DeSantis is term limited in Florida, he should run for Governor in another state.
This is especially so in Hillsborough County, where the judges have sent the word out to law enforcement they don't want to see any illegal aliens in their courtrooms.
The judges are paid off by the big construction and land development firms to keep hands off the illegals who are their sole source of cheap labor for roofing contractors, grounds maintenance, and construction crews.
Some of the 35-year-old rusted, smoking, banged-up heaps being driven on the streets here are open advertisements that the drivers have zero insurance coverage, much less a license to drive. Yet they are never pulled over.
So far, none of this has changed. Though enabling local law enforcement to support the Feds on immigration law at street level is a valiant move, it has limitations where there are judges who are more than willing to throw a wrench into the works.
He's the guy Trump originally tapped for a sub-Cabinet post or some such, but the guy begged off at the last minute, claiming he didn't feel "qualified" to handle the job.
After Trump and his search team vetted the guy? They would not have named him to begin with, if he had had that kind of deficit. So, something rotten in Denmark.
“After DeSantis is term limited in Florida, he should run for Governor in another state”
I’ve thought the same for quite some time now.
I was thinking California.
Thanks
