White House insiders have vented their anger at National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, with one reportedly calling him a 'f***ing idiot' after it emerged that he added a prominent journalist to a secret group chat revealing highly sensitive war plans.

'Everyone in the White House can agree on one thing: Mike Waltz is a f***ing idiot,' the source, identified as a 'person close to the White House', bluntly told Politico.

The ONLY two in that room that I would trust and I think Trump would trust is Stephen Miller and Suzie Wiles because unlike the others in the room their loyalty far outweighs their ambition.

Those are “his” people and Trump will get “the facts” of what happened from them.

An ongoing narrative of Trump’s first term was the incompetence and disloyalty of his staff which sadly includes Ivanka and Jared.

Trump ain’t happy and you can bet on that.

But Trump is not going to act immediately that is what Elite Stream Media would love.

If it was Waltz, then he will be out and won’t make it to the fall.

It’s fair to say most folk in the WH know who is to blame and to think that won’t get out is simply ridiculous.

Having the idiot’s name in public is a good thing.

It is in a weird way accountability that clears the name of those like Hegseth who was the “new” person in the room that I didn’t want it to be.

As far as Vance goes, he should be smart enough to know it doesn’t matter if his words are interpreted as criticism of Trump to media or the public.

The ONLY person Vance must be worried about is how does Trump interpret what Vance says in private.

I think that interpretation depends on how Miller and Wiles read them.

Wiles has seen ambitious types before as the strongest point on her resume was being fired, unfairly so she says, by Jeb 2.0.

Supposedly not because the person added has to accept & you get that message too. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Lutnick delivered this long, but entertaining and informative interview this week that describes the process in some detail:

(Bannon was rolling his eyes about it yesterday, as Lutnick’s oversharing apparently drives him crazy.)

That is entirely possible...but I don’t know how. I just assume it is possible...:)

And if it was a setup by Trump to root out leaks, then...it is going to cause a head to fall, either Waltz’s or some aide. (I saw that Fox was saying Waltz never met or talked to this person, which is why it smells to me.)

Considered it a lesson learned and in all appearances is a net positive for the administration. Getting mistakes out with no little impact out early and learning from them can be a good thing. No reason to fire the guy.

Now the insider who is saying these things to the press, they need to go. That is someone waiting to stab you in the back.

Saying that, one question left though I would want an answer for. And that is why was the reporters name so easily pulled into the chat.

Oh, I agree completely. This seems like a SCIF conversation from what I know of these things, which is not from practical experience but from what I have read.

It is why it doesn’t make sense to me, and makes me suspicious for a setup. There just seems like a great-big-black-hole of empty weirdness smack dab in the middle of this.

If Trump doesn’t fire Waltz, that indicates a mistake which had no harm or foul, or that he smells a rat.

If Trump DOES fire Waltz, it is because he found a rat. I think Trump is beyond being pressured by the Media to fire someone like he was with Flynn, so if Trump found cause to fire Waltz, it is because he found him untrustworthy or at egregious fault, IMO.

Yes. That is exactly what they want. Fortunately, Trump was severely burned by his inexperience in his first administration, and he prematurely buckled to the media pressure.

He made the absolutely critical, but understandable mistake of thinking in 2017 that we are all “on the same team” with respect to the FBI and DOJ. He found out by hard experience that is not the case.

He now knows that buckling like that to the pressure of the Media is simply throwing bloody chum into shark infested waters, so he won’t do it prematurely.

The more I look at this, the more I find this whole thing looking more like a redux of General Flynn.

Yes.

WE don’t need to jump on it and demand action. The Left will do that. We are ostensibly on Trump’s side, and we can afford to let him and his staff make the appropriate decision without pressure from us.

There is no need to rush to action. As SomeCallMeTim opined, let Trump’s team look at it. That is good advice.

The treatment of General Flynn by many on this site, in retrospect, left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Myself, I remember thinking “Well. I guess Trump had to let him go. He lied to his superiors.”

And he did no such thing.

Even well into Flynn’s trial, there were people on here excoriating him, calling him a traitor, saying he deserved to go to prison, etc.

When the scope of the operation against him became better known and the case ended up getting dismissed (Flynn said he didn’t want a pardon) there were still people who refused to review the facts and adjust their stance.

I have some very hard feelings about that.

I totally agree with your post đź’Żpercent.

I read a big Trump supporter’s post on X yesterday and he was saying for people to cut it out and calm down. To NOT help the bad guys with speculation and blame on our admin team.

He was saying that we do not know how every one of these people are under tremendous stress because we have no idea how corrupted and how the Biden regime planted all kinds of trouble for these people deal with.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. The people the bad guys are trying to get to are people on our side to start cannibalizing the admin team. If we calm down and ignore it, this goes away much sooner. What was said in that meeting was normal conversation and debate and not top secret.

Maybe the true purpose of the conversation on signal was to flush out the “staffer” who had the Atlantic journalist’s contact info and is a suspected leaker.

I can think of any number of ways to ferret out a leaker besides embarassing the entire Natsec team at the White House...but ok

He will resign but it will happen quietly after the media has moved on. It will be stated he is stepping down for a different reason.

Mike Walz has screwed the pooch, he should resign before DJT has to fire him. I hat to see him go but at that level you shouldn’t be making mistakes like that especially with the media.

Debating policy with differing opinions is a positive. It’s good to not have an echo chamber simply rubber stamping.

Yes...we are nodding our heads vigorously in agreement!

I do it too-I am not in any way immune, but I think we should let it take its course without adding to the volume.

As they used to say in the Navy-keep a steady strain!

Kind of wondering if this wasn’t a setup to reveal a leaker.
