The ‘flare’ you mention seemed to be glaringly missing. Unless this was due to some mechanical error, of which doesn’t seem to be the case, your description seems to match my suspicion....just pilot error. A pretty bad one at that, we’re very lucky everyone survived.
CDC launched all the covid lockdown/mandate BS, which has now all been PROVEN as BS.
CDC is under DHHS.
There has been no mea culpa from DHHS re these policies.
There has been no public statement of fact re said mandates (that I've seen).
All the BS of the covid era remains on the table until DHHS admits its mistakes, rescinds all prior policies, mandates rehiring and damages to all who refused the jabs and, most importantly, to those injured by said jabs.
RFK Jr is the leader of said department and, by consequence, all daughter agencies.

I agree that RFK Jr is off to a hideously slow start, but let’s not have tunnel vision here.
The reason the female pilot erred has to do with insufficient training and DEI, more remotely to do with the pilot shortage perhaps caused by insistence on pilots receiving the covid shot. The causation argument has less to do with the covid shot and more to do with lack of training.

That is the key. I will never say being a woman caused this. That’s foolish. Being inexperienced or minimally qualified caused it.
DEI, in its infinite stupidity, elevated this woman to a position she was not qualified to be in. By the grace of God, it only embarrassed her and nobody got killed. I say embarrassed because of today’s political and legal environment she will probably keep her job.
I had one interview to be the single pilot captain of a Cessna 402 in a large commuter airline. The interview was done in the airplane, under the hood, flying an NDB approach while being asked interview questions. You can’t fake anything under those conditions. I was hired by the chief pilot 15 minutes after landing

Buff landing gear can be crabbed.
So can C5 transport gear. Pilot had a little dial he could set, went to 15 degrees if I remember right. Last I worked one was 50 years ago.
