7 Actions That NATO Countries Are Taking Which Indicate That Something Really Big Is Coming
New American Prophet ^ | March 23, 2025 | Michael Snyder

If peace is on the way, why are they feverishly preparing for World War III? It appears to me that NATO countries are convinced that something really big is coming. Is there something that they know that they aren’t telling the rest of us? As I discussed yesterday, things in the Middle East are really heating up, and the conflict in Ukraine has reached a very dangerous stage. If negotiations with Russia fail, both sides are likely to significantly escalate matters in a desperate attempt to win the war, and the Russians could come to the conclusion that a final showdown with NATO has begun. We do not want the Russians to view the conflict in Ukraine in those terms, because they are already extremely paranoid and it wouldn’t take much to push them over the edge. Unfortunately, NATO countries continue to do things that will raise tensions instead of easing them. The following are 7 actions that NATO countries are taking which indicate that something really big is coming…

If any NATO put troops in the uke,We should withdraw.
as is - our contributions should be limited to about 3% (assuming 33 mem)- just the avg of members.....
.
Thank God President Trump won.
grifter Z-ski will have to give up the nuke plant. He already has about 4 others.Electricity sharing is fine....
.
i wish Trump success. This war needs to end.
After russia clears Kursk a ceasefire may be possible.
I think Trump could get russia to give up claims on annexed but not captured territory.Russia isn’t giving any captured territory back-nor should they. Normalizing relations and ending sanctions could get them on board...Screw minerals..
No more US dollars for ukes!

“There is really nothing more disgusting than ingratitude. We pay for their defense, spend tourist dollars in their country, and all they do is spew hatred or, worse, laugh behind our backs.”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><

Let me point out something to you.
If we take Trump’s words and actions at face value, there is a consistent logic in him pushing Europe toward strategic autonomy. For decades, American presidents talked about Europe pulling its weight but at the same time sabotaged any EU attempts for military independence from the US.
Trump is pushing for something totally different and is for the concept of not only making America great again - but ALSO Europe great again!

And yes, the France angle is very real. In concordance with Trump’s philosophy, French defense companies like Dassault and Naval Group quietly saw unprecedented growth. Orders for Rafale jets skyrocketed — not just from Europe but from countries like Egypt, India, Serbia and the UAE, and many others are on the verge of doing it as well. France leapfrogged Russia and China to become the #2 weapons exporter globally — something unimaginable 10 years ago. That kind of industrial surge created jobs and secured technological independence — exactly what European leaders have dreamed of since De Gaulle.

It’s ironic — or maybe poetic — that Trump, often criticized for being anti-NATO or “anti-Europe,” have done more for European defense independence than any U.S. president before him. Macron’s vision of “European strategic autonomy” — mocked as fantasy before — suddenly looks achievable. And what’s wild is that Trump is the catalyst. Trump is making Europe’s Military Industrial Complex great again. It will create many, many jobs, more than anyone can imagine - it has already started.

The historical parallel:
1776 — America declares independence with France’s crucial help.
2025 — Europe begins asserting military independence, thanks to an American president who helped them to grow up. Trump.

If Europe plays it right, this could be the start of a more balanced transatlantic relationship — allies by choice, not dependency. Trump’s stance isn’t anti-European — it’s pro-European strength. And maybe… that was his gift all along.

We were discussing European ingratitude but we can definately include the American kids.

I’m 74 and remember many of my Dad’s WW II friends and was told about friends he’d lost. We were taught about American exceptionalism, etc.

“”...- but rather is designed to raise doubts about the wisdom of President Trump putting America first at this particular time.

They would rather we put Europe first.””

Exactly. More gaslighting attempts.

“Pearl Harbor was an inevitable response to Roosevelt’s gradual escalation of measures against Japan.”

Yeah. WE started the war with Japan! At least I know now where you are coming from!

What a shame that the Ukraine/Russia war is becoming the catalyst for rearming the world. How tragic there are people in the world like Putin and Xi who are so paranoid that this rearmament is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. There are so many good things we could do in the world with all that money, that now will not get done.

This is a truly tragic situation. This is truly one of the most insightful posts I have read here at Free Republic. Make love and friendship, not hate. Do business not war, but don’t forget our natural world.

I'm not saying that, because the embargo was not an attack on Japan.

The US believed the balance of naval power would prevent a Japanese attack, but didn't realize the Japanese were willing to make a high-risk attack that would have a high-payoff if it succeeded in response.

Japan's internal political dynamic made escalation inevitable, because no faction could survive making a call for a diplomatic response or backing off the conquest of China. In fact, any figures making such a call would likely have been assassinated.

We made a move that made Japanese escalation to war inevitable: if we had realized that, we would have defended Pearl Harbor much better than we did. We never thought Japan would take that risk because we didn't understand the internal workings of the Japanese governing factions.

I believe the globalist elites are doing what they can to usher in WWIII. In their eyes it would solve the overpopulation / climate change problems.

Given the way they are already importing millions of islamists and other foreign peoples to prop up their collapsing population and economy, I doubt they are concerned about "overpopulation" any longer.

"Final showdown with NATO?". That might be an appropriate headline if Russia was being invaded and its existence threatened, but Russia is the invader and can return to the status quo ante any time it wishes.

Russia isn't stupid enough to attack a NATO member unless and until that NATO member becomes an active belligerent, in which case Article 5 would not apply.

The Baltics are building a joint defence line on their border with Russia that will have some six-hundred bunkers across each border.

It will also include tank ditches, forests, dragon’s teeth, hedgehogs, and rocket systems.

They could call it the Maginot Line. That will surely keep the Russians out.

I agree—it’s tragic. But I’ve come to accept that existence is shaped by the eternal struggle between Good and Evil. They are opposing forces, bound to clash until the very end of time. It’s a somber truth, but one we can’t ignore.

What offers a glimmer of hope, though, is this: only Evil seeks endless expansion, consuming everything in its path. Good, by its nature, does not crave domination—it simply wishes to exist, to preserve what is just and fair. That’s why Good must always remain strong—not to conquer, but to resist, to protect, and to hold the line.

We see this dynamic play out so clearly in our world. The West, for all its flaws, seeks survival through cooperation, commerce, and coexistence. It thrives by creating connections, not by tearing others down. The East—Russia in particular—chooses the darker path. It survives by taking—lands, lives, futures—feeding its existence off the suffering of others.

Two fundamentally different philosophies. One wants to live with others. The other wants to live at the expense of others. That’s why this war—whether cold or hot—will never truly end. Because as long as Evil seeks to expand, Good must be ready to stand its ground - and it knows how to do this. Thank God.
