More mask, ventilator... crap. Politicians “showing action” in crisis.

Russia doesn’t have the capability to keep rolling beyond Ukraine. They can barely manage Ukraine and need to partially nationally mobilize just for this.

A conflict with NATO (combined manpower strength more than 6 times Russia and her allies, the US alone 10 times Russias defense budget) isn’t even remotely feasible. These are made up unrealistic scenarios about as feasible as the North Koreans invading the US: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1234719/

Furthermore, their military ambitions do not even include all of Ukraine. This is a limited conflict (SMO) where Russia has a specific political and military goal (block NATO accession and seize ethnic Russian areas in East).

This is junk, the whole war was friggin stupid.

As the Poles waste their money laying mines which one day need removed, let’s just hope they do it in a way that doesn’t cause some kid to get killed or crippled. Mines often grow legs and move around in the soil (rain etc). Modern mines are often non magnetic. But I’m sure when some kid or farmer gets blown up, that too will be the Russians fault. Everything is Russia’s fault ever since Hillary Clinton lost.

Think again. Putin's stated war aims include:

  1. Ukraine ceding the remainder of the oblasts claimed by Russia.
  2. Reduction of the Ukrainian army to a token force that would be unable to defend the country from further Russian aggression.
  3. Beyond no NATO, no alliances of any kind.
  4. No foreign security guarantees against further Russian aggression.
  5. The forced installation of an unelected pro-Russian government.
  6. Suppression of Ukrainian nationalism.
  7. Promotion of the Russian language and culture.
This is all prelude to the eventual reabsorption of Ukraine into Russia. Putin knows that he might not be able to get it all in one go, but that is the ultimate aim. You are fooling yourself if you think that this is only about NATO expansion and a few supposedly ethnic Russian provinces.

I think we can assume that Polish engineers and government will be very careful, precise, and modern in this planned peacetime installation of modern landmines on their own soil.

As far as detection this stuff goes way back “1996 (Amended Protocol II) prohibits the use of non-detectable anti-personnel mines and their transfer;
prohibits the use of non-self-destructing and non-self-deactivating mines outside fenced, monitored and marked areas;

I’m pretty sure that for Polish safety, Poland’s engineers and designers will be following the agreements and rules for using landmines going back to the 1980s, and using all the technological advances in landmine design since the mid 1970s and for landmine installation and mapping.
This isn’t some backwards nation in desperate times of war and throwing out WWII mines into barely marked muddy fields during winter combat.
