Netflix's CEO Ted Sarandos isn't underestimating Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex's solo endeavor With Love, Meghan premiered earlier in the month, debuting in the global top 10. A second season has already been filmed and will debut in the fall.
While other series produced by the couple's Archewell Productions company — including Polo and Heart of Invictus — didn't produce as large of audiences for Netflix, Sarandos recognizes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's touch goes beyond numbers.
"I think Meghan is underestimated in terms of her influence on culture," he said. "When we dropped the trailer for the Harry & Meghan doc series [in 2022], everything on-screen was dissected in the press for days. The shoes she was wearing sold out all over the world. The Hermès blanket that was on the chair behind her sold out everywhere in the world."
"People are fascinated with Meghan Markle," he continued. "She and Harry are overly dismissed."
Netflix also has a stake in her new lifestyle brand, As ever, marking its foray into e-commerce as teas, jams and more are set to be available for sale in the U.S. this spring.
Sarandos said, "We’re a passive partner in Meghan’s company, and it’s a big discovery model for us right now."

There is a long list of Hollywoke stars who have poisoned the movies and TV series they have appeared in. As a consumer I can’t overlook the evil behind the characters they portray. That’s not my fault. It’s theirs.

I don’t believe she has sold anything. Designers have gone so far as to tell her NOT to wear their clothes because she is so toxic. Multiple instances of her being rebuked in this manner. But somehow, just by being in the background on her inane show they sell out? Simply not believable. Only person claiming it is someone with a massive interest in her “success” and no receipts. Right.
Never liked her on suits. She was a complete negative. I’ll go one step further and say she is not even attractive. She looks harsh and aged even when younger. Now she is approaching hag class.
She is a prostitute and he is her manager.
There is NO merch to sell ! Nothing at all has been made as yet, like the jam she tried to make people want to buy, but only a few freebies were made and NOT by her!
The show didn’t do well because she is a phony. Netflix is trying to sell the pig in a poke second season because it is in the can.
There is no reason to like Meghan and I don’t.

This is just Netflix protecting their investment in the Sussex’s. There was a curiosity at the time of their departure from the Royal Family during which they signed on with Netflix. I mean, who doesn’t like a loud personal argument with one-side talking a lot of smack? But I think that has largely dissipated now that the split is final.
The CEO of Netflix is trying to defend Markle.
She probably yelled and screamed at him to defend her.
Markle is Toxic.
Her show flopped.
These lazy, privileged dunces couldn’t create a business that the average American could run from their kitchen table.
That $100 Million figure that gets thrown around, from Netflix, was for BOTH Harry & Sparkles to use to make shows and all that entails, as well as their salary.And NO, the money was NOT just handed to them in one lump sum.

There are YouTubers who get MORE watchers that both of the Sussexes shows, of any kind, TOGETHER, get.
It seems to me that the people who risk their investments on the Harkles’ projects would have gotten a clue by now.
What hell is this?
I knew Markle wasn’t picked and the move to the US wasn’t done for nothing, but this is truly offensive:
