Then they hire Oswald as a patsy.
Plausible deniability.
The Kennedys hated him too. JFK wanted to make Stuart Symington (Sanctimonious Stu) VP, but his aides told him to pick LBJ because he couldn’t win without Texas, and LBJ would make sure they won Texas.
LBJ ran for two offices that year: VP and re-election to the Senate. He won both races. When he resigned to be VP, the Republican who had lost to him won the special election.
That was John Tower.
Lyndon stole his first election to the Senate — he won a primary after ballot boxes disappeared. As far as I know, they’ve never been found.
In ‘64, we said “Ballot Box 13 made the Johnson machine.”
Barry might have had a chance against Kennedy.
Goldwater and Kennedy knew each other from the Senate and liked each other despite their political disagreements. They had intended to do a whistle stop tour together. At the first stop, President Kennedy would talk about an issue and Senator Goldwater would rebut. Then at the next stop they’d flip-flop it.
Instead of that, we got the little girl picking flowers.
Allegedly, Clay Shaw.
I used to be able to. It’s kind of funny watching me try now. With my glasses I can focus on the rear sight but not the front. Take off the glasses and it reverses.
Are you sure Oswald could? In the just released files, the Russians claim he was a “bad shot” while shooting on his visit to the Soviet Union.
I say bring back that little girl and her daisy. It might actually make the warmongers here and around the country step back and think for once.
JFK was stepping on quite a few toes at that time. If you want to follow the money, you’d be onto something there.
Speaking of 1964 playgrounds, I remember reciting this on the playground.
Johnson Johnson, he’s our man
Throw out Goldwater in the garbage can
Shut the lid and close it tight
Blow it up with dynamite
Of course, I was only 8 and had no clue what stupidity I was parroting.
It is also well known that LBJ won his elections by cheating.
Oswald was young so I do not believe his eyes changed yet, He hit targets at 200 yards with open sights in the Marines. He had a sniper’s perch set up when he shot Kennedy at 68 to 70 yards.
That might be all well and good but I’m yet to be convinced he ever took any shots at Kennedy.
It seems pretty well documented that LBJ was a horrible human being, a psychopath and eliminated anybody that got in his way long before November 1963.
He had many people killed from about 1948 onwards and there is no doubt that LBJ and Hoover saw eye to eye regarding the Kennedy brothers.
Hoover and LBJ had dirt on the brothers (why he was selected as VP candidate in 1960) and the Kennedy brothers had dirt both on Hoover and LBJ. It was mutual blackmail and hatred especially between RFK and LBJ.
LBJ’s underling, John Connally sat in front of the President in the jump seat and knew about the assassination. Perhaps LBJ wanted to get rid of both JFK and Connally in one fell swoop? Or is this being too conspiratorial?
” If LBJ had Kennedy killed (which I consider likely) “
Right, after all that to get the job he just up and quit in 1968. I call BS on this one.
Exactly what Oswald claimed. He made a good one. In a firing squad, not every shooter has a bullet, so no one knows for sure if he was the one that killed the target.
Thank you.
I had but lost a very long interview with a Dallas woman who recited in extreme detail a meeting of Texas Democrat leaders planning the assassination of John Kennedy.
It was a credible presentation.
