I completely understand the motivation that US spooks or politicians might have.

And “if true” they got away with it, even. But it seems improbable that a guy like Alan Dulles would be so certain if not getting caught. Blackmail, revenge, blowback. Not to mention maybe launching nuclear world war. Seems reckless as hell.

Then to set up a patsy like Lee Harvey Oswald, who had Marine rifle training, to fire the shots. IN 2024, the SS tried the same thing with Matthew Crooks (except that he didn't have the rifle training Oswald had and couldn't make a head shot at 120 yards).
