There's a growing phenomenon in China of EV owners simply abandoning their cars. It's becoming a problem for local governments.

They typical insane competition within China of various government-supported producers means most producers lose money, so they cut corners everywhere and quality is low.

Due to this, problems arise in parts unfixable by private citizens or repair shops - software and batteries. One must go to a company-designated repair outlet

Costs for common repairs then are often higher than the original cheap sticker-price of the car

Unable to fix the cars, and unable to sell them, people then just abandon them.
