The special representative of the US president, Steve Witkoff, has indicated that Washington and Moscow are in talks regarding access to Black Sea ports.
As reported by "Kommersant", these discussions form part of broader efforts to address the conflict in Ukraine. Witkoff highlighted that the talks also covered the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, an essential energy supplier for Ukraine.
In a conversation with CBS News, Steve Witkoff stressed that access to Black Sea ports is one of the potential agreements that could be achieved. He added that resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict requires multiple components, but all parties, including Europe, are keen on its resolution. Witkoff met with the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on 13 March to discuss these issues.

Ok Marcus, step down from the ledge. Come eat your pudding.
What flagship Moskva doink?
I know times are tough for you since Trump’s peace game is stronk! I forgive you your inane rants.
An acknowledgement by Trump explaining how Ukraine is a similar Interest as is Panama is, and within the legimate Great Power Sphere of Influence of Russia.
The US has no claim in Russian boarderlands.
Maybe Trum would like to revisit Cuba as was the case in 1962.
Now any talks btw the US-Russia it can only lead to non-NATO peacekeepers.
No parties to the conflict can be a part of any contingent, e.g., US, EU, or Russia. Thus, China, India, Brazil, are prime candidates.
Trump wants to keep a distraction for Russia in Ukraine but the US cannot also claim Sphere of Influence anywhere else under a crumbling while emerging Trump Doctrine.
My sources also tell me that Trump is considering the recognition of Russia’s annexation of Crimea. Should that happen, one cannot imagine how the Neocons, Zeepers, Europeans, and Democrats would react.
We are at the 1963 demarc.
Everyone is playing a long hand. 10 card stud. Trump has failed to decisively make clear French and Brit peacekeepers will not be UN authorized and thus illegal umder international law... that these soldiers will be legal combatants from the moment they enter Ukraine... France and Britain cannot be peacekeepers because they are fist directly fighting Russia actively in the past, and the veto of Russia makes it impossible. France and Britain are heavily invested financially in Ukraine. Essentially the British and French will be protecting their property rights which Zelinski can no longer quarantee.
Trump and Putin know the investment by British government and BOE are the reason for involvement of their military. Russia will either capture/bypass or if fired upon destroy EU soldiers.
The massive recession englufing Europe us unfolding by mid2025. The failed investment in Ukraine must be written off.
Trump understands this but is not ready for another rounds od direct meetings with Putin.
The EU may force a war.
Russian doctrine has several lite scenarios fir an attabk on EUrope.
One is 40 sites or one per NATO member plus an extra or two for France, Germany & England.
The second us 400 targets. This is an attack for survival, but short if annilation of life across NATO EUrope; it does target under a declaration of war the political leadership of the EU States. It targets EU State assets separate from NATO itself but is an attack on NATO. The AWACS Base at GK GE the naval dacility in Greece.
This second strike is a decapitation launch. If the EU and/or the US retaliates, Russia will launch afainst the United States and a final knockout in Europe.
Trump is coming up to speed. NATO is no longer needed. They are a direct threat to the USA in that certain member states are trying to force rhe US to fight Russia.
Trump XANNOT NEGOTIATE WITH RUSSIA WITHOUT DISENGAGEMENT FROM NATO.
Sorry but typed from a small phone while visiting Tokyo.
Black Sea access? That should pretty much be a given at this point.
So what, every country with half-competent military leadership has plans to attack every other country if needed.
Russia likely doesn’t have enough nukes (assuming that’s what you’re talking about, because they sure as hell don’t have the capability to conduct conventional strikes more than several miles from their border) to seriously hit these US, which less 400 different targets. Most of their missile silos probably don’t have sufficient fuel to fill the missiles, have inoperable systems due to lack of maintenance, and of the missiles that can even get out of the silo, a significant number likely can’t make it to their intended target. I forget where I saw this, but some news story about silo inspections for one of the arms reductions treaties saw some of their silos full of water and rust. Clearly not operable.
