well, the Mohammedan factor is the main factor, yes.

But the situations are not the same - the Russian federation grabbed land (the Crimean peninsula) from its neighbor while Kosovo was a land that got independence from another.

Now if Albania had invaded and conquered Kosovo, THAT would be comparable.
