I don’t think this is that big of a deal. We dumped our Bud Light in response to the woke ads, and many of us boycotted GM years ago for taking the government bailouts. Using our “stuff” and our pocketbooks to make statements, for both sides, is fair game. So…. Meh.

That's a fair point. However, the use of neither GM products nor Bud Light had any claimed wider benefit to humanity. But to the Left, driving a Tesla was supposed to help fend off global warming. It wasn't just a matter of style or taste, but "doing the right thing."
So what this anti-Tesla boycott really says is "I care more about making a political statement than about saving the planet." So in that respect, it's quite an indictment of their own claimed moral virtue.
