Sure, Jan.
” Isn’t there a place in the Mediterranean region perhaps, that has a watermark for ocean level.that is unchanged since the 19th century? I recall reading about it here.”
Some years ago I saw an article about a tidal gauge that was carved in rock in New Zealand in the 1840s. The mean tide level then was the same as it is now.
I jump3d in the pool, and the level in the pool rose 1/4 inch and I panicked- thankfully I had my triple n95 masks on and was quadrupal vaxxed! /s
but yet...
the obamas bought not 1 but 2
waterfront properties
obammy still has one under construction on beachfront property in Hawaii.
Total bullshitte. Take a look at the tide marks on old buildings, all across Europe. No changes.
As to such theoretical measurements, what is measurement error? I’m willing to bet at least an inch.
Maybe it did or maybe it did not. NOAA has a long history of "cooking the books" on global warming data.
I can’t believe they’re still using the “melting ice” “theory”.
I can’t believe people are still falling for it.
“Global sea level rose faster than expected last year alarming scientists”....and no one noticed it.
I would guess that temperature, wind, moon position, time of day, etc are factors that need to be normalized.
25 years owning an oceanfront condo and nothing has moved or changed other than the tides. I must be near an exempt “sea level” part of the Atlantic Ocean.
““Every year is a little bit different, but what’s clear is that the ocean continues to rise, and the rate of rise is getting faster and faster.””
Meanwhile.... Venice, Italy, which has been “”sinking”” for hundreds of years, is still NOT underwater and despite these alarming and horrifying reports... has not sunk yet. Venice, Italy apparently didn’t get the climate change memo.
Yeah, it would be a hassle. Probably easier to look at the lichen/barnacle/etc lines.
Yes, thank you! That was also what I half-remembered.
17 is not “nearly” 25.
.17 x 50 + 8.5. So if that rate kept up for the next 50 years, we’d be dealing with 8.5”.
I'm bad at math.

And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
