As the prospect of a partial government shutdown looms and the Senate is poised to vote on a House-passed government-funding measure that would avert a shutdown, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., announced on Thursday that he "will vote to keep the government open and not shut it down."
He said that while the "bill is very bad, the potential for a shutdown has consequences for America that are much, much worse."
The senator's announcement prompted pushback from some Democrats.
"I cannot underscore enough how incorrect that is," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said of Schumer's argument. "What voting for this CR does is that it codifies the chaos and the reckless cuts that Elon Musk has been pursuing, the robbing of our federal government in order to finance tax cuts for billionaires is what is happening. And that is what Senate Democrats will be empowering if they vote for this CR."

It seems like a smart tactic by Schumer if my theory is correct about the dems wanting the swamp creatures to stay embeddee while Doge tries to root them out.
Now, if the republican want to get the shut-down (which normally they wouldn’t), they will have to vote for it in a majority, which means dems/media can say they own it.
Chucky understands that if the gov is shut down, DOGE might not let 50% of them back in.
We have been saying for years and years that Republicans needed to grow a spine and force the issue . We finally get to see what happens.
The gaslighting by AOC is getting as desperate as it is lame.
1. shut down
2. arrests can begin.
“the robbing of our federal government”
No mention of who supplies the money.
“We have been saying for years and years that Republicans needed to grow a spine and force the issue . We finally get to see what happens.”
It helps to have the work of DOGE to back up a government shutdown...something we never had before, and it changes all of the dynamics. Personally, I’m surprised that Schumer was sharp enough to figure it out so quickly.
That AOC is considered a Thought Leader I for Democrats shows how far they have descended into retardation.
I’m pissed all the workers are back at work beginning today. What a waste of time. Now they have to go through a RIF to get rid of government workers which must go through congress.
Most of them, I think, do not want communism per se but the perks that come with being party apparachik: power, control and money.
Once the bill is passed, DOGE still has to root out people doing nothing and find the diversion of funds. That may or may not happen. A Schumer Shutdown would absolutely cut the NGO funding, and trigger massive layoffs as well as inspection of where every dime of government money was going. That’s worse that DOGE. Further, it calls into question why there was no Budget in the first place and why the government is out of money when Trump has been attempting to be fiscally responsible his first 50 days in office.....Which goes right back to the Democrats.
Schumer had to agree, or it would be much much worse for the Democrats.
It’s good to see communism on the rack.
Maybe socialist birdbrain (A.O. Cortez) and socialist corruptnik (Upchuck Schumer) can square off in a cage match.
Hey Chuck, Trump has six ways from Sunday to make you bend over and feel the pain.
Democrats, the party of lying losers and thieving tards.
“I’m pissed all the workers are back at work beginning today.”
Well, that’s life. Always keep in mind that the cost of these people is relatively small compared to the DAMAGE they do (probably 20 to 1 ratio), and re-assigning them to useless, dead-end, jobs is always a fall-back option.
That’s a good point. Some probably won’t go back as they have other opportunities. Of course they will be the best of the group. The losers will show upz

Yep, just think of them as highly paid WELFARE CASES, but far fewer in number than the 100 Million or so that we presently carry.
