"There are things that wouldn't be pleasant in a financial sense. I can do things financially that would be very bad for Russia. I don't want to do that because I want to get peace," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
"In a financial sense, yes, we could do things that would be very bad for Russia, that would be devastating for Russia. But I don't want to do that because I want to see peace. And weโre getting close to maybe getting something done. We got Ukraine done. And, as you know, Ukraine might have been the more difficult party. You were here a week ago when some interesting things happened. I had somebody who didnโt seem to want peace. Now he's agreed to peace."
Trump also said "people are going to Russia right now as we speak and hopefully, we can get a ceasefire from Russia. If we do, I think that would be 80% of the way to getting this horrible bloodbath" ended.

none of this is leverage so long as Western Europe pays for their oil/gas.
Except Trump has leverage over Europe
none of this is leverage so long as Western Europe pays for their oil/gas
Exactly!
Delicate balancing act. Go too far, and who knows what will happen to the dollar. The Fed won’t help Trump, Powell hates him.
If we end up with Trump on one side and Russia on the other, which side will the Putin posters take?
They will support President Trump.
That’s the stupid part, the part that makes zero sense. Western Europe wants war, only to fight Russia on Ukrainian soil. They even want to send troops to Ukraine.
Yet these jackasses are buying their oil and gas from Russia. So in essence the Russian profits from their oil and gas sales are financing a part of their war effort against Ukraine.
The only logical explanation is the Euroweenies do not want the war to end, or they would stop financing the Russian war effort by buying their petro products.
And here the US comes along giving the Ukes billions of dollars. Dollars that are a gift while the Euroweenies contributions are loans. And our money cannot be accounted for. I wonder how much of the US dollars circle back to elites in the Euroweenie countries?
It’s all crooked as hell and we need to just pull out, out of Europe all together.
Putin is winning the war against the losing side, which is the US and Ukraine. If the losing side demands stupid terms then they will just get more war and lose more of Ukraine and all the amazing “rare earths” that Trump lusts after. The facts all support Russia. Trump has no right to demand anything as the representative of the nation that foist this idiot war on the world, even though it was not he that did it, but Biden, the guy who stole the election from him. If it possible, Trump should find some way to show some “statesmanship” and simply say “you won, and now let’s sit down and find a way to have a real peace without the Democrats in the room poisoning the well.”
That would be the thing to root for.
This is timed perfectly.
Look at US Nat Gas futures — the weather is warming and us covering Europe with LNG for a few weeks while the pipelines into russia are shut off is certainly possible.
And lucrative for our producers.
Doubt very much they will support Trump.
I'll take "Brainless Zelenskskyyyyyyโข-Fluffing, Keyboard Warrior, Trump-Hating, Hopium-Smoking Zeeper Scumbags" for $300, Alex!
“none of this is leverage so long as Western Europe pays for their oil/gas.”
None of it is leverage even if Western Europe stops buying their oil and gas...as the rest of the world will simply buy the vast majority of it.
Tell Putin to accept President Trumpโs ceasefire.
You better work on the price of eggs, you weirdo.
“Look at US Nat Gas futures โ the weather is warming and us covering Europe with LNG for a few weeks while the pipelines into russia are shut off is certainly possible.”
They pipelines were either BLOWN UP by the Neocons or used as the latest INVASION ROUTE for Russia to get 800 soldiers behind Ukrainian lines. So I don’t know what all this dreaming is about regarding Russian natural gas.
Marginal costs. Russia is close and if they can deliver for 1% less then the ships go that way. Change that a bit and the Euros will switch vendors in a minute. Thats international commodities. There is no way to pressure the buyer in this scenario, there is always another vendor.
