We’re going to need a bigger safe deposit box.

And some more stars to go supernova. Then wait.

54,000 tons of gold yet to be mined

Theoretically there is a great deal of gold at the center of the Earth mixed in with the iron core.

But how to get it out?

I personally wouldn’t trust any article that talks about a “cricket pitch”. Because as we all know, crickets can barely hold a baseball. They can’t throw it at all.

🤔

I live in El Dorado County California where the gold rush started in 1848.
A learned geologist friend here claims only about 10 % of the gold (750,000 lbs) was mined here so about 90% still in the ground.
3 of my properties had high yield gold mines (all placed gold deposits)
All those mines are still accessible and mined well after the gold rush ended.

Still have a 48” trommel behind my house that in the 25 years I’ve lived here was never run.

I’ve heard it also described before as basically the same size as the base that the Statue of Liberty stands on. That being how much gold is actually on earth.

Well If you like that stat then this will blow your mind. You could take all the cars and trucks ever made and put them in a cube less than 3 miles on a side.

“The West Coast Placer gold blog notes that gold reserves are not always reported accurately.”

“Additionally, small-scale gold miners, especially in developing countries, often don’t accurately report the amount they find.”

No gold miner/prospector, anywhere, ever, is honest with anyone about what they found. It -only- has downsides to let people know. Even telling people you trust is bad because they think it’s super cool and wanna tell people later.

“I know this guy and you cannot believe the luck he has nugget shooting with a metal detector in Dead Horse Gultch”, or “You should see all the gold my friend sucks up in his gas powered river dredge down along Mad Woman Creek!”.

A more suspicious bunch that prospectors, you are unlikely to ever find.

Both mining and oil and gas extraction are price-dependent. There are a few parts per billion of gold in your backyard but you couldn’t afford to mine it. There is a lot of gold in the earth in mountain belts but no one knows how to find it. Randomly boring holes in granite is expensive.

Revelation 21-22 says the eternal city of gold is 1500 miles cubed. The wall at the bottom is 72 yds thick.

The amount ever mined has more than tripled since I was a kid (at that time it was about 50 feet on a side). Still not much. The curious thing is that anyone doubts these figures.
