Billy Joel is postponing his tour by four months 'due to a medical condition.'

A statement posted to his Instagram reveals the tour has been halted after the Uptown Girl singer, 75, underwent a recent surgery.

While the rescheduling sparked serious fan concern, the statement maintained Joel is expected to make a full recovery.

'The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors. Joel is expected to make a full recovery. The tour will resume at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5, 2025,' the post, uploaded Tuesday, read.

'While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding,' Joel - who recently fell on stage - said in the statement.

he's still on tour? Never cared for him much, his music was ok, but there was something satanic about him to me.

Billy Joel is a good singer / songwriter. Piano Man and the Stranger albums sum him up well. Great lyricist.

The Stranger was definitely his creative peak. Some good stuff after, for sure... but that one was the high point.

Possibly a hernia after he was careless throwing the heavy mike stand.

Satanic? LOL! No, Hillary is Satanic. Joel just plays a piano.

I saw him last year at Tokyo Dome. It was an extremely boring gig.
I respect his musicianship a lot, but the show was dull as heck. I miss his 70s and 80s work. I wish him well.

Oh that’s right, I forgot about that. It looked like he was back on the bottle, he throws the mic stand into the audience, not a good idea.

Baladas might be thinking about Billy Idol.

His stuff was definitely satanic to me.

Probably so. I have never been a huge fan but he made some good songs.

I admire how he deals with front row seats. He doesn’t sell them. He got tired at looking at “big shots” who got those seats via scalpers. So he provides upgrades to ordinary fans and some get front row seats.

Who is the Millenial version of Billy Joel?

That's a very good question. IMHO, modern popular music has been destroyed by lowest-common denominator rap, Neo-marxism and the disappearance of classical education.

So who is Billy Joel's modern equivalent? Maybe Ed Sheeran has taken on the job, but musically is more folk, more simple, and writes less complex songs.

The problem is that a lot of the classic good rock and rollers are now OLD.

Eric Clapton is touring again this summer.
I thought briefly about going to see him in Boston or at Mohegan Sun casino in CT. Then I remembered he is 79. Slowhand really is SLOW HAND now.

Same story with Neil Young. He is coming to Gilford, NH. Then I saw a picture of him. Talk about “Old Man take a look at your life”.

Don’t forget auto-tune. To me, it makes vocalists sound like dial-up modems making a connection.
