The question is whether enough people will pay to watch it.
Unlike when the Snow White full length cartoon came out, new movies don't just compete with other new movies.
They compete with every movie ever made.
This has been true since VCRs were common, but even more so now.

In the classic fairy tale, Snow White is named after her exceptionally pale skin, described as “white as snow,” which is why her mother, the queen, chose to name her “Snow White.”.
Doesn’t get more direct than that.
Maybe they’re remake black caesar with a white dude :)
