I lived in Alberta and still do business there. For that province, joining the U.S. would be a bad move. Being under the control of an oppressive government in Washington is a million times worse than living under a dopey jackass like Justine Trudeau.

I lived in Alberta and still do business there. For that province, joining the U.S. would be a bad move. Being under the control of an oppressive government in Washington is a million times worse than living under a dopey jackass like Justine Trudeau.

Is this true? This is the opposite of what I've heard. As a US state they'd keep more of their oil revenue. They'd gain a right to keep and bear arms and their free speech would be much more protected. Its true they would lose the socialized medicine but that's kind of collapsing in Canada anyway. If they wanted to, I'm sure they could implement some kind of public medicine scheme in their state - especially with all that oil money that would be in their pockets. They might even be able to cut citizens a check every year from their oil revenues like Alaska residents get. Taxes would be lower.
