Should a public employee with $150,000 in overtime in 2026 pay no federal income tax on that?

At most tax on Social Security should be limited to half paid for by employers.

As for no tax on tips, perhaps just exempt the physical money share.

I think it’s a great idea. Too bad Trump don’t drink, he could dropped taxes on wine, vodka, beer, and whiskey. I guess you gotta draw the line somewhere.

I make $100-$400/day (3 days a week at a golf club) plus $15/hour. This means a lot. Not that I ever reported a dime of it anyway, but it still means a lot.

You know who gets a lot of overtime?..govt workers...there was a reason all those NYC firemen and policemen got $200,000 p3nsions after the twin towers.

I'm against anymore freebies for govt workers.

You betcha. I know it still has to go through Congress. But is it too much to ask for the Social Security break to be retroactive to the 2024 tax year?

Yeah, it probably is.

Definitely sounds like a very useful step forward.
Taxing social security is like stealing the children’s Christmas presents back from them on New Year’s Day.
Except that they earned their presents in the first place.

We need to abolish the conter- productive and costly income tax.
Asap!

The beginning of the end of double taxation?
Now, how about the inheritance taxes...

Happy Libertarian :)

If that’s not government taking its hands off people’s business, I don’t know what is!

How about no more low interest SBA minority loans to Indians to buy up rural gas stations and hotels?

I think Congress needs to pass this. Does anyone know if these 3 items are in the big beautiful bill?

That why the Democrats PR lies about “tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires” has been so effect for the last 25 years. As far as the GOP-E bots are concerned those are the only people who should get a tax break

Millions of people voted for President Trump, who would never otherwise look at a GOP candidate, because of those promised tax cuts. Only a total political moron would think breaking that promise was a good idea.

Since at least FDR Democrats have won election after election by telling voters “:Send me to DC and I will get this for you”

Trump flipped the script in 2024 by telling voters “Send me back to DC and here are all the things I will stop them from taking from you.”

As has been the habit of the GOP_E, the usual whiners are now crying that President Trump is keeping his promises that got million of non GOP voters to vote for GOP candidates for a change

The GOP_E is not refereed to as “the stupid party” for no reason. This idiot whining about tax cuts for working people is a prime example of their habitual idiocy. They rather cling to their country club mentality then ever advance their political agenda toward the goal line
