They were with each other for over sixty years . . .
RIP. The God of all comfort be with Dolly.
That sucks.
Rest in peace.
60 years together is pretty good. Especially being in the entertainment industry.
Rest In Peace, Carl.
Believe or not, people used to get married and stayed married no matter what..you just stayed married..and it worked..

Back before our society became so mobile, and people lived their whole lives in the same area, you knew you’d better find somebody good by the time you graduated high school, or you were going to be left out. You found someone “good enough”, got married, and you made it work.
🙏 Amen❤️🌷🌸🌹
I have long thought their long good marriage was one of the under reported stories in a sordid business.
That sucks..My prayers go out to Dolly and her family RIP
Oh no
Dolly Parton is a saint
All comfort to her
But how old was he?
Well, maybe he really did exist, then!
I remember when I was in second grade, my Wife's cute face on the playground and in the hallways in elementary school when she was in first grade, the same grade as my younger brother. Her parents had the first Volkswagen Beetle in our rural community and I remember her mother parking it on the side of the road on the hill above the school.
Both of our families had moved away and each came back after we had finished High School, so it was almost kismet that we went on a "blind date" and married less than two months later. It's only fifty years now but we hope to make it more.
Such a beautiful story. You remembered her from the first grade.
You are needed here at FR on weekends. You can tell some freepers that married life can be good.

Well, as marriages go, there is always lots that no one will ever know outside of the two at the heart of it...

May our Creator give her solace and comfort during this sad time.
I wouldn’t say that is appropriate, but what is described there is not an “open marriage” in the way that term is normally described.
In our whole school, first through twelfth grades, there were 573 students in 1963 and only fifty-five students in my wife's third grade.
