Ukrainian-Russian couples have long been common, a reflection of the deeply intertwined history the two countries share. Many Ukrainians have relatives in Russia, and vice versa, and travel between the two countries was common before the war.

Roman Romanenko, 33, already got the call from the military and answered it, but that took him even farther from his 34-year-old wife, Liliya, who lives in St. Petersburg. The couple met online and were married on Jan. 20, 2022 β he had planned to join her in Russia a few months later.

Peace is readily available, and then all of these sad stories would stop.

She’s from just north of Kiev towards Chernobyl, He’s from Moscow region. They met in medical school somewhere in Russia.
Was at a gathering at their home. Some leftist fool (you know how leftists love mindless slogans) learned she was from Kiev region said to her “Slava Ukraini!” - she pulled him aside and said “No. No. No. We don’t say that.”
That whole area has known war for 150 years.
Its long past time to stop it and stop supporting it.
Zelensky can end the war if he just surrenders to the invaders.
Putin can step the war if he just stopped invading..
