The first time I ran into some beer cheese was 1977,
At a friends collage grad party.
As we ere sitting around his yard I kept smelling this awful smell.
I asked him if his septic was backed up.
He handed me a piece of the beer cheese.
No thank you.

nuttin like a Limburger (sp?) and onion sandwhich! My dad loved Limburger cheese and onion sandwiches, sometimes with liverwurst. He also liked to eat hot peppers straight from the jar and pickled pigs' feet.

I’ve only had limburger once. I stank but was very tasty. I almost bought some a few months ago but didn’t. I need to get some again.
My wife barely puts up with my sardine on crackers habit. We’ll see how she does when I add Limburger to the mix.

I’ve been enjoying pickled quail eggs and pickled brussels sprouts that I picked up at Buccee’s a couple weeks ago.

Love pickled pigs feet- pig knuckles too. We used to make a meal of them growing up. Never tried chickens feet though.

You don't have to wonder, it's all in the excerpt! Seven paragraphs down!
Todd explains the story of the first stinky cheeses, saying “There's debate as to whether it was an accident or an intention, but basically a Benedictine monk in the Alsace-Lorraine region...

Yeah, that would have meant reading the article all the way through. Something that I would have found to be somehow unnatural to do here on FR. It breaks tradition.

True, but in this case this was part of the posted excerpt, so we're getting into FR gray area here :p

We’re heading to Monroe, WI on this coming Thursday - Limburger Capitol of the World!
How lucky can one girl get? ;)
We’ll be dining at Baumgarteners Deli & Cheese Shop - and, yes. They offer Limburger and Onion Sandwiches. I will probably pass, but it’s nice to know where I can get locally made Limburger in an emergency! ;)

Another occasional pleasure is Huntsman — Double Glouchester with Stilton layers. Stilton is quite strong but very tasty. Crumbly.
Double G with chives and onions (Cotswold cheese) is a more frequent pleasure.
