We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes. It’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

I still hate Illinois Nazis, except now they run the state.

Check your favorite podcast outlet for Dan Aykroyd’s version of the Blues Brothers story from SNL forward.

So many great lines.

Fun movie. Lots of good covers of original R&B hits
I do take exception, now 45 years later, however when classic rock radio plays Belushi and Aykroyd’s “Soul Man” as if they were Sam and Dave.
Fun was fun. Just give me the originals.

Yes. Every time I see a news clip about the college students denouncing Jews and Israel as they block a street or freeway entrance or access to a university I think of the Blues Brothers hitting the accelerator and moving straight ahead.

The scene with James Brown was recorded live. James’ singing is live, and on fire. It is one of the best scenes in the whole movie.

The scene with Aretha Franklin was overdubbed. Apparently, she was a bit of a diva. Her scene not as powerful as Brown’s, but it’s still killer.

One of the greatest movies ever.

I loved the movie.
I never got the humor of their appearances on SNL. Maybe they were just a little too much scriptless improv on SNL which I didn't get. Or maybe they were impersonating specific blues musicians which I was too young to recognize.

RE: Just give me the originals.
That gave me a memory of pushing the 8 track cartridge into the player slot in my car to start The Best of Sam and Dave.
Seems like yesterday.
Car ran great on regular gas before catalytic converters.

Sniff enough of that and you’ll end up thinking you finally beat Medicare like Joe Biden.

Thanks! This movie really is great fun. Maybe I’ll pop some corn later. I never could decide on my fave scene.

John Lee Hooker. The only blues guy in that movie.
