Trump gives Zelensky bum’s rush and flushes the European ploy to escalate war against Russia

After his mauling from President Trump live on TV and then being booted out of the White House, Ukraine’s Zelensky immediately phoned European leaders.

That reaction shows that the Ukrainian actor-turned-president had flown to Washington from Kiev not to merely sign a supposed minerals deal with the U.S., but to inveigle Trump into a trap to escalate the proxy war in Ukraine against Russia.

No doubt there is consternation and alarm among the Europeans that their agenda for prolonging the war against Russia is in disarray. Worst still, a furious Trump may now cut Ukraine loose and leave it completely at the mercy of Russia.

European leaders are huddling in London on Sunday for an emergency meeting convened by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Zelensky is to attend and be showered with European expressions of support and billions more of taxpayer money. Incredibly, they still champion the impudent conman as a “Churchillian hero”.

The fallout in the Oval Office on Friday was a sordid spectacle. Trump and his vice president, JD Vance, tore into Zelensky under the full glare of TV cameras for daring to make more demands for U.S. security guarantees as part of a deal giving American companies access to Ukraine’s alleged mineral wealth, including oil, gas and rare earth metals.

The meeting started cordially, but Trump refrained from giving specific “security guarantees” to Ukraine. Zelensky’s sniveling insistence on getting explicit U.S. commitments for military support following any peace deal with Russia triggered Trump and his officials to rebuke the Ukrainian leader for wrangling in public and not being respectful.

When they say “furious Trump”, you should read that as “America-First peace-loving who is tired of getting jerked around Trump”...

How incredibly stupid to think that kind of ploy would work?

I don’t think this was some coordinated plan. Probably Zelenski was making some pathetic gamble.

From what I’ve been reading, it wasn’t a ‘european ploy’ but a conspiracy between obama zealots to sabotage the peace effort.

If this was a conspiracy between those zealots and the euros or otherwise, heads need to roll pronto.

Examples, we need.

Before Zelensky met with Trump European leaders held a summit in Kiev. Then the little dictator showed up and tried to dictate. Wonder what guarantees he got from the EU trash?

“European leaders are huddling in London on Sunday for an emergency meeting convened by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.”
That will be an exceptionally woke room.

Yes.

All I want is for us not to be involved at all.

And it looks like that will be the case.

Thank goodness.

From the article:

“Zelensky’s immediate phone calls to French President Emmanuel Macron and the NATO chief Mark Rutte after the White House fiasco is the big reveal here.”

It’s apparent that they wanted to fool Trump or intimidate Trump. Susan Rice, the Democrats, and the MSM were willing accomplices.

Pres. Zelenskyy had 3 opportunities to sign the rare earth minerals document giving the United Stares 50% of Ukraine’s minerals. He declined to sign the document. He demanded America provide security for Ukraine, which means US soldiers in Ukraine. President Trump said no.
The story that Pres. Zelenskyy now wants to sign the rare earth minerals documents is pure malarkey

Pres. Zelenskyy had 3 opportunities to sign the rare earths mineral agreement. The 3 rd opportunity came when Zelenskyy and his advisors said they wanted to come to the White House to sign the deal.
Zelenskyy showed up to the White House at 11:23 for a meeting with President Trump scheduled for 11 am. President Trump invited the press into the room with Zelenskyy and his advisors and VP JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other Trump Administration advisors. After about 30 minutes a belligerent Zelenskyy chose to argue that the deal must include security for Ukraine, American troops in Ukraine. Unacceptable for Pres. Trump.
As Zelenskyy became louder and ungrateful for Americas $350 billions spent on Ukraine, President Trump said it was good for everyone to see this and said Pres. Zelenskyy is not a person he could do business with. Obviously Zelenskyy does not want peace.
I don’t think Zelenskyy is credible if he now says he wants to sign the rare earths mineral deal.
IMO the United States should cut off all aid to Ukraine.

From what I’ve been reading, it wasn’t a ‘european ploy’ but a conspiracy between obama zealots to sabotage the peace effort.

That's how I read it. There is the petty element of denying Trump the credit of peace there as they did in Afghanistan, and there's also the element of preventing the revelation of who sent what money where and who ended up with it. The latter is likely to shake both Europe and the United States.

“IMO the United States should cut off all aid to Ukraine.”

I agree, that would force an end but I don’t expect that to happen. I expect Putin to keep taking territory until he feels safe enough to stop. NATO/Ukraine can’t stop Putin from doing so, they are weaker than ever due to lack of troops and nobody is sending 200k combat troops to save Ukraine.
